“Hole-in-the-wall with awesome food!”

Probably one of the least assuming restaurants with some of the best Mexican food I have been to. The restaurant itself is small and no-frills, with cheesy decorations and no alcohol service, but their food is fresh-tasting, well-seasoned, homemade, and cheap. The pork filling they use is genius. Although not as inexpensive as their more typical offerings, they also have some of the best beef fajitas I've ever had. Service is average, but seems to have improved a bit since they moved to their current location.

The place reminded me of a local take out mexican joint with dine in tables. Not fine dining but good food freshly prepared. The good food freshly prepared part deserves some emphasis.

The (al pastor) pork tasted like they prepared and seasoned it themselves. I've had it at dozens of places and they're all a little different. The vegetables were fresher tasting than expected, especially for this early in the season.

Service is not sit down restaurant quality, but par for the course in a place that does this much take out. The wait staff seemed friendly and willing to please if not especially skilled.

You're not going to impress anyone by bringing them here. You will get a meal prepared there in their style. If you like little corner taquerias you'll like this place. If ya like big box chain food fare this place is a gamble. I know I'm coming back.

I visit El Amigo Pepe occasionally when I am in the area. They have excellent food, and the prices are quite reasonable. The food is very authentic, and their "spicy" food is actually spicy (unlike many other restaurants). I recommend the Burritos and the Beef Shoulder Tip!

Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
