This is my third snowmobiling trip to Newberry area and stay Halfway Lake Resort...Always came mid-February to mid-March...Usually stay with three or more guys. Trails are close-by (across the road), just down from gas and restaurant. The showers are hot, cooking can be done on stove or microwave and the 'fridge works great. You can easily pull your sled right up next to the cabin(s). Satellite TV, fresh towels (if required) and comfortable beds. They even have hooks for your covers on the front porch. Sledder friendly! Every time a new person comes up they too are happy with the place. Will be back again!

Room Tip: Any one is good, although I like the stand-alone cabins.

We have now enjoyed two long weekends at Halfway Lake Resort. What a wonderful place to get away without having to "rough it." The cabins were spacious, clean and well-furnished with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay (whether it be short-term or extended). The private tree-lined lake offered a stunning view and a serene setting, with activities to do year-round (complimentary boating, kids playscape, campfire pit, gazebo with a hot-tub, horseshoe pits, accessible snowmobile tracks, sledding hill, and so much more). The owners were welcoming (yet not intrusive), and made us feel at home. Would highly recommend Halfway Lake Resort for family vacations / reunions, group retreats, or even a weekend getaway for two. We will most definitely be back again.

Room Tip: All of the suites are similarly furnished and equipped with the same amenities, but we enjoyed the l...

We had a wonderful time at this resort. The grandkids loved the fishing. The cabins were very clean and had plenty of room for the 6 of us.

Location is great. Very close to a lot of tourist destinations in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Halfway Lake Resort this past week! We stayed three nights in cabin #4 and really enjoyed our stay. They offer FREE kayaks, canoes, fishing boats and a gorgeous lake to enjoy them on. There are two-tracks/paths to go walking around the lake. The cabins are very clean and comfortable and well-kept. GREAT PLACE and we plan on going back!

We recently stayed at the resort for the first time, we will surely go back. We had a 2 bedroom cabin that was complete with kitchenette and fireplace. It was so romantic for our first vacation together with no kids. The tree's were just changing colors. We were close to several attractions like a bear ranch, the shipwreck museums, and Mackinaw island. We are going to go back to see the rest of the attractions that we missed. Unlike some places that you have to provide your own towels, pots and pans etc they provided us everything except the food. Are you looking for a romantic getaway without or without the kids this is the place for you.

Room Tip: We stayed in cabin 8 and was quite happy with it. There are some cabins that face the lake. Next tim...

Came north from South Carolina to see the fall colors. Was not disappointed. A small, friendly, well maintained cabin resort on a pretty private lake. Has Sat TV, hot tub, Wi-Fi, etc, so not as isolated as its location may imply. Host supplies towels and other sundry items. Surrounded by hundreds of square miles of national and state forests open to the public. Will be shifting north next fall from our usual LP cabin to Halfway Lake in the UP. Northern pike fishing and grouse hunting appear to be good - saw grouse even along the paved highways. Plenty to see on the two nearby Great Lake coasts and in Newberry - Oswald's Bear Ranch is a mile away. Would recommend it to families and to hunters and fishermen. Owners are pleasant and very helpful. Back in 2012 for a longer stay!
