My husband and I used to go to Skip's on a regular basis about twenty years ago because we had some dear friends who liked to hang out there. We decided to take a drive(30 miles) to see if it was as good as our memories were of times gone by. We called ahead and were told reservations were strongly suggested. The outside of the restaurant has not changed much. It is nothing fancy, plenty of parking. We were surprised when we got inside to see an advertisement for a buffet.(It was a Saturday evening). Price:29.99. Since it had the prime rib we had come for AND crablegs, fried shrimp, stuffed white fish, green beans almondine, red potatoes, oysters, cold boiled shrimp and a small salad bar(along with a few other items) hubby decided to get the buffet. I opted for a small filet with double baked potato. We were both very pleased. The crab legs were very nice size. Everything was kept filled even though there was quite a crowd. My filet was perfect as was the potato., salad and cream of broccoli soup. The service was very efficient without hovering. There does seem to be room for larger parties(i.e. 12-15 people). We saw bachelorette parties, girls night out and alumni get togethers all there. The manage came by each table to be everyone was satisfied. We will definitely not wait another twenty years to go again!
