We had a wonderful meal sitting on the back deck of Bentwood Tavern, overlooking the many boats that dock in New Buffalo. The menu was varied and interesting. the food and service couldn't have been better. Looking forward to our next visit.

This resaturant is hidden away in the corner of the New Buffalo harbor next to New Buffalo Yacht Cclub. It serves excellent american fare. After dinner 'if you'd like' get a glass of wine and go up to the roof top and watch the boats coming and going in the harbor.

The chef, Jenny, had a very successful restaurant in Union Pier, called Jenny 's. It closed a number of years ago then she opened again in the hotel. This is a great location. You can sit out on the deck overlooking the marina in warmer weather. The service is great and the wine list one of the best. Atmosphere is resort casual, and always includes many families. The food is excellent and ranges from queen snapper, fish and chips to BBQ ribs and pizza. They do take about 50 percent reservations. Lots of Chicago folks, but even us locals love to go there.

I am a self proclaimed food snob. Spending time in this region on vacation has its limits regarding great dining options. There are good options, just nothing really GREAT. However, Brentwood is in the great category.

The décor and ambiance was lovely when you came it. I would call it "boating chic".

We started at the bar where we chatted it up w/ Zach -- who happens to own a brewery too. We chatted all things beer. He was great, personable & even invited us for a private tour of his brewery.

We had 1 drink and tuna tar tar at the bar. I asked for Fireball (a classy drink, I know....but I like to sip it). They didn't have it.

We got a table right away when we were ready to move to the bar to the restaurant. Our waitress was dynamite. A high school religion teacher by day, Kathleen was classy, smart & just a joy. She offered us samples of a couple wines to choose from & we ordered a bottle to our liking.

I order scallops & hubby ordered the pork chops w/ jicama spicy slaw. We ended w/ grandma's chocolate pie.

I could spend my entire 4 days simply doing dinner here!
