“Summer Ice Cream Joint”
Reviewed August 15, 2014 via mobile

Namcys has a huge selection of hand scooped ice cream along with soft serve and Hawaiian shave ice. Seems to always be a line and perhaps the teens working are not trained at the Disney institute, but it's a great summer night treat.

“Like - a 100 ice cream flavors”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

We stopped by Nancy's for ice cream after a meal. There are a LOT of flavors to choose from and boy were they GOOD! Inside and outside seating. The teen waiting on us was very friendly and funny. I think they serve food too, but we just had ice cream. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Michigan. It was a little pricey at $4 per scoop, but worth it.

“Very good ice cream”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

This is an ice cream, hot dog place with limited indoor seating and some tables outside. The hand dipped ice cream is really good with a lot of flavors to pick from. It is mostly staffed with teenagers and it was really busy, but they were able to keep up with the demand pretty well. If you look inside the building, the kids have to walk all the way to the back of the long, narrow biulding to scoop the ice cream from little freezers and then walk back up to the front. The owner/manager should address how time consuming that is. We weren't in any hurry and able to wait, but other people were complaining about having to wait.

“our favorite spot for ice cream, DISPITE the moody teen staff”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

the ice cream is terrific and good value.
the staff, on the other hand, is mostly teenagers, who fair enough, are often over-worked with swarms of tourists on hot days and i'm sure their arms feel like they're going to fall off from all of the non-stop scooping. the problem is, they project it. they'd rather be anywhere, doing anything else, dealing with anyone else, and they communicate that with every eye roll and exasperated groan and march to the next ice cream scoop. i get it - i do. they're in a hot room dealing with awful people and what sounded fun has probably turned into the summer job nightmares are made of. but their attitudes really do sour the family outing experience and joy of going for ice cream.

“Mediocrity”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

My wife and I stopped by after dining at the nearby Stray Dog. Even though it was a warm summer night, we got the distinct impression that the employees were more interested in going home than serving the line of people waiting for ice cream. My wife had to make three selections before finally hitting on a flavor that wasn't sold out. Our ice cream was nothing special - certainly not on a par with the premium stuff you'd find in a grocery freezer case. The cost, however, was more in keeping with a more upscale spot. If there were a DQ nearby, it would certainly be a preferable choice.
