We (five) stayed two nights in two rooms in August as a stopover on our cycle trip south. It booked up very early (we couldn't have our first choice dates when I booked in April). We had a room across the car park which was nice but basic. The hotel itself was charming as are the owners who were very helpful and attentive. The restaurant was excellent. It was rather more expensive in high season than other places we stayed without obvious reason - but it is clearly popular and deservedly so.

Used as a stopover. Bouin is best described as sleepy village. However it's close to bigger places. The hotel is part old building with rooms and part outhouses terraced together. We stayed in a mezzanine outhouse. The pool area is great with loungers and shades but the real attraction is the hotels resteraunt. Out door table and chairs provided at accomadation but the missiles made a meal of me when I sat out reading my kindle after dark.

I entitled my Review "So glad of Trip Advisor" as if this site did not exist we would never have known about this lovely Hotel. I had read the reviews so expected much and it didn't disappoint. From the moment you arrive at reception you are made to feel very welcome. The room, on the top floor, was lovely with a view of the pool, which was also brilliant for a late afternoon swim. The en suite was stylish with a lovely shower. We decided to stay for dinner at the a joining restaurant as the set menus looked very appetizing and great value for money. Again we were personally greeted with a handshake and the food was glorious, best value we have had in France. All in all a gem of a hotel in a lovely quiet village. We could not have asked for anything better.

Spent 2 nights at this hotel in July 2013 with my wife and and another couple.
On arrival we were greeted by Camilla who made feel at home. She answered our questions about the area and then showed us to our rooms. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, clean and adequately furnished. The beds were very comfortable and ensured a good nights sleep. The hotel is off a side street and is quiet and relaxing.
There is a good sized pool which is clean and pleasant to sit around to enjoy an aperitif before dinner. The hotel is ideal for families with young children and the older vacationer. The town of Bouin has very little to offer in respect of evening entertainment.
On both evenings we ate at the restaurant associated with the hotel. The menu and daily specials offer a good choice of traditional French cuisine. The staff are friendly and the restaurant itself is nicely laid out.
We enjoyed our time at the hotel and would stay there again if in the area.

A lovely hotel in the middle of a small village. The room was simple and there was a nice covered swimming pool. The attached restaurant was excellent with friendly staff (family?) and a lively atmosphere.

A very nice, clean hotel with charming and serviceable staff. Breakfast was lovely, under a glassed-in outdoor patio. We didn't have the opportunity to stay for dinner. There is a big covered pool, and for anyone with kids, that's obviously a huge plus - especially considering the ever-changing weather in the region that makes swimming at the beach not always an option.

My only two complaints about the hotel are about the noise level (which is ironic because it's part of the silence hotel chain). First of all, we had a room very close to the pool, and there were lots of kids, even very early on a Sunday morning, and because the pool is covered, there's a tremendous echo. Perhaps for a romantic stay sans kids, ask for a room farther from the pool.

But the second noise issue has to do with the rooms themselves. the bathroom doors provide absolutely no phonic insulation (ahem), which can be embarassing. Also, we could clearly hear the conversations of the people in the next room.

None of this was dramatic and I'd stay there again, but I'd get a room away from the pool and I'd hope for a room with a bathroom that's a bit more intimate.

What a surprise to find a hotel of this standard in the quiet little village of Bouin. We were here for one night and had the most amazing room - big enough to have a party in! The restaurant was very good with interesting choices. Breakfast was also of a high standard. A super place to stay. A quiet location, just what we wanted.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a superior room - lovely!
