“Traditional gite in beautiful historic setting”
Reviewed April 24, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

The gite is part of an old watermill in a beautiful setting. A short walk from Beuzeville it is ideally placed for either a walking holiday, birdwatching, or a centre for visiting places of interest in Normandy. The owners were very accommodating and helpful, and the gite had plenty of leaflets and maps of the locality. There was plenty of space - a lounge and dining area and a kitchen with everything needed for a short stay. There was a TV and music player, games and a few magazines. there was also outdoor space to enjoy the fantastic weather in natural surroundings.

“Wonderful area”
Reviewed May 30, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Beuzeville is a beautiful, friendly place. We got tips on the best bakery and restaurants near by from locals whilst having a coffee in the tabac (and they weren't wrong!). The town has everything you need including a large supermarket and the church has the most amazing stained glass!
Our mill was the ideal place to stay, secluded and beautiful with an amazing garden and lovely hosts. We had a wonderful break and would highly recommend this area and Anne and Richards mill to anyone.

“This was a nice comfortable rental in an idyllic country location but in close proximity to Honfleur.”
Reviewed August 3, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The owners Anne and Richard were very warm and welcoming and Beuzeville was literally just down the road with a good selection of shops, restaurants and a supermarket selling fuel.

We did have fantastic weather so made full use of the outside seating area with table, chairs, cushions, umbrella and for a change a clean barbecue. They have a lovely large garden with 2 swings and they were happy for the children to roam around with consideration for their lovely plants and vegetables.

The main bedroom had a king size and a single bed. The second bedroom had two single beds. There was a further single bed in the downstairs lounge/kitchen.

There was a highchair stored in the main bedroom and a kiddies standing stool in the bathroom. There was also a hair-dryer, dvd player, hand blender and coffee machine. There was a good sized fridge with a small but efficient freezer compartment, microwave and dishwasher.

All electricity was included. Bedding was 12 euros for the king size bed and 8 euros for each single bed. Towels were 6 euros per person for 2 towels. Alternatively you could provide your own which we did. Cleaning was 20 euros. Alternatively you could choose to do it yourself.

We had a great stay and may well return next summer as it really was such a relaxing lovely location. The owners were lovely and spoke reasonable English and the property inside was just as the online pictures showed.

“Lovely setting and wonderfully hospitable owners made for an extremely relaxing holiday.”
Reviewed July 11, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The mill was a calm, peaceful and interesting place to stay. It was in a beautiful setting, and was very clean and well equipped. Anne and Richard were outstandingly good hosts, and helped us in many ways, without being in the least intrusive. We asked questions about the history of the mill, they answered them all with enthusiasm, and even showed us pictures!
They suggested places for us to visit, once they realised our interests, which we thoroughly enjoyed. So altogether, a lovely week!

Liked best: The friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, and the location.
Liked least: Minor things - the bedding didn't conform to British sizes, and the coffee machine kept turning itself off before it was finished!

“Beautiful setting, good location and hospitable owners”
Reviewed October 4, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful mill in a quiet village. The children loved the large garden and the games we found in the house, the house was clean and comfortable, and its location was in easy reach of many of the key sites of Normandy. The owners were very welcoming and hospitable.

“Fantastic house, fantastic hosts.”
Reviewed March 26, 2015 for a stay in June 2014

My partner and I stayed here with my father and nephew. We hade travelled over for the 70th anniversary of D Day commemorations. It is a lovely converted water mill which has been very well done, while still feeling very authentic and French. The property sits in a lovely quiet area with very mature gardens. It was very pretty and peaceful, yet within easy reach of many places of interest close by.

The apartment itself was very well stocked with all that you will need for your stay. We arrived to a lovely welcome pack of some gorgeous local produce which was a lovely touch, and very welcome after our journey.

Richard and Anne introduced themselves when we arrived and made us feel very welcome and at home immediately. They are a genuinely lovely couple who clearly take a great pride in what they do, and do it very well. They could not have made us more welcome, and managed that without in any way intruding on our time and space.

All in all, it was a lovely experience that we will definitely do again, and would gladly recommend this place to stay for anyone looking to stay in the Normandy area.

“So lovely - the perfect base for touring Normandy”
Reviewed January 17, 2015 for a stay in August 2014

I stayed with my husband and 19 month old son for a week and we had a very warm welcome and were shown around the lovely apartment and Anne and Richard even gave me some oil and garlic grown in the garden until I could get to the shop. They were very kind and always on hand to help or offer a friendly wave.

The apartment was spacious and comfortable and decorated in a lovely simple French style and we found it perfect for our stay, it is set in lovely gardens and you can hear the mill/stream. It is nearby to shops and a good base to explore Normandy as a whole. The Auberge "L'Ecole Buonissiere" in Quetteville, about a mile away, is highly recommended a real gem, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch there.
This apartment is ideal for families or small groups, it has everything you need - well equipped kitchen, wi-fi, great shower, comfy beds. A perfect base and somewhere you won't want to leave!
