“A wonderful house in a wonderful French village”

We stayed in Najac during the festival week in late August and had an amazing stay.

The house is beautifully located in the village with the front giving easy access to places to eat and shops in walking distance and the back opening onto a glorious view of the castle and countryside with a real feeling of peace and seclusion.

The house itself has been renovated to a very high standard and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. The different levels enabled us to sunbathe and read in the garden or pop under into the open cellar area when we needed some shade while still having fresh air.

The beds and bathrooms were comfy and well-equipped and there was plenty of storage space for clothes.

The location of Najac was also excellent for horse riding, kayaking down the Aveyron river and other water sports, as well as within easy reach of several beautiful old French towns such as Cordes sur Ciel.

Patti and Bruce were really helpful and friendly throughout the booking process and offered lots of really useful advice on making the best of our stay.

It really was a family holiday to remember. The view of the fireworks from the castle were spectacular!

Management Response

Dan - what an absolutely fantastic review you've given us. So, so delighted you obviously loved the place as much as we do. The problem is you've now made us desperately homesick!!
Many thanks
Bruce and Patti

“Lovely village house”
Reviewed June 13, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We have spent a week in this lovely, well equipped and beautifully restored house in the quaint village of Najac. The village was quiet which made for easy access and parking right outside the door. The house has everything needed for a comfortable stay and the beds are great. It is also a treat to have multiple bathrooms! We really enjoyed the long evenings on the the terrace watching the sun set over the hills. Perfection!
We have found the village to be very friendly and within easy reach of many of the sights of the Aveyron and Tarn departments. We did encounter several days of heatwave which had us swimming in the river at Laguepie - unusual for the time of year apparently.
The owners were super to deal with and very helpful. We thank them for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy their delightful home.

“The ideal place to stay in Najac”

We stayed at Aux Volets Bleus for a week in 2012 and this year we returned for two weeks. The property has been modernised to a very high standard, is spacious and well-equipped. The garden, with wonderful views of the chateau and across the Aveyron valley, is a real asset. The house is ideally located in the centre of the village, with a corner shop 20 yards away and within easy walking distnce of bars, restaurants and the bakery. There is British, as well as French, TV. I have stayed in several houses around Najac but it is hard to beat being in the village - and it is hard to beat Aux Volets Bleus!
