“Gorgeous setting in delightful beau village”
Reviewed June 28, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Comfortable, quiet and off the tourist beat.
Easy to explore whole region. Good local walking.
House generally worked well but upstairs bedroom difficult access .
TV upstairs was nuisance and screen too small for comfortable viewing. Needs decent TV set downstairs. Also strongly suggest providing Wi-Fi access. Saying there is an Internet cafe in Brive is unacceptable - too difficult to access.

Management Response

Thank you to the holiday makers who brought to my attention issues with TV reception.
Please note that these TV reception problems were professionally sorted out by an engineer in 2014.
The key holder has confirmed that the TV set is.working beautifully.
Madame Delvert is willing to assist any future holiday makers in the unlikely event of experiencing any possible problems with the TV. She is most helpful.

“Wonderful location and views to die for!”

This cottage was in a superb location with spectacular views over surrounding countryside and beyond. The ground floor accomodation was very bright, clean and comfortable, with everything in good working order. The upstairs (bedroom) was spacious but gloomy, with only one very small skylight, so consequently was very hot at night, even in early June. There was an air conditioning unit but very noisy and impossible to sleep through. Also strangely, the TV was in the bedroom and it was very small and only picked up 4/5 channels badly. As the property was advertised as having a TV, this could have been a problem for anyone who wanted to watch it much. The small patio'd area in the front was very pleasant and private, but the main garden was to the side of the property, not accessable from the house, which meant locking up the house and patio area each time you wanted to go down to the garden. There was supposed to have been a gardener but we saw no sign of him and the garden was sadly neglected, with a washing line right next to a hedge of brambles, so almost unusable, also thistles in the lawn. The garden would not have been suitable for young children as there was a sheer drop over the wall, also one part of the garden was a pile of broken tiles, shells and glass! We did not find this property easily, as the fence had been changed since the picture in the ad, and there was no name on the gate, which would have helped. We arrived before the lady who was supposed to have met us, despite phoning ahead. She had however, left us a welcome food pack, and arrived within ten minutes of us.This was a lovely cottage for us to stay in, as an older couple, and I cannot stress enough how spectacular were the views and location, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with young children.
