Spent one night plus dinner. Dinner was tasty though service was quite slow, however it is a family run place so happy to make allowances. Couple of glitches with slow wifi. Roads up to Hotel are narrow but if you take it slow all is fine.

Very clean rooms and hotel.We were warmly welcomed in the hotel.Ideal location for 1 night on trip to Spain. Close to the Pont du Gard, very worth visiting (in the evening, very beautiful with lights).

We stayed at the hotel Le Gardon because we wanted to visit Uzès (which we couldn‘t because there never was a free parking spot in the village which was overrun by tourists).
We made a reservation for dinner for the night of our arrival several weeks beforehand which they forgot about. Service was erratic. The rooms were o.k./good. The pool has almost no shade.
The roads to the Village Collias are nice but narrow. The locals drive like pirates and one young lady crossed the middle of the road and smashed our rear-view-mirror (20cm more it would have been a frontal collision).

First a back story ... 2 weeks prior to our arrival, I emailed the hotel to let them know that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary and I was hoping if possible, if we could get a room with a romantic view and as a surprise to my husband something special to be placed in the room. We had booked/ paid for a standard room (classic double room) so I wasn't expecting an upgrade to a suite but something special would be a nice touch.
They emailed back, stating that we could be upgraded to a larger room and a bottle of champagne for an extra cost. That wasn't the answer I was looking for but c'est la vie and decided to leave it at that.
Upon our arrival to our room, we weren't greeted with any kind of acknowledgement of our 25th anniversary. It wasn't a biggie but it sure would of been nice.

Room:
The room was basic, clean and roomy with lots of storage space. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. Our room had a view of the hills but no balcony.
We hung up our towels to be reused for the next day to conserve energy, but here is where I was disappointed, the hand towels and face cloths that were wet and dirty which were placed in the tub to be replaced, were taken away but not replaced with fresh ones. Again, not a biggie but we had to do without for the remainder of our stay.

Food:
The daily breakfasts were very good with fresh breads/pastries, yogourts, fruit salads and a delicious variety of jams, coffee and juice.
The set 3 course dinner which we had only once during our stay was delicious. I can't comment on the value of the meals because they were included with our 2 night stay with our bicycle tour package.
Our last night we had ventured into Collias to a great restaurant called l'Alpha B. We were so impressed with the quality of food and the service considering he (the owner) was the cooking and waiting staff! ... would definitely recommend .

Hotel-Amenities
The hotel decor is clean and basic, which some may find as clinical looking. They have a lovely patio but no seating areas/lounge (if the weather is unfavourable) ... only a dining room in the hotel. Collias is a cute small town which has little to do after dinner, which is understandable, which is why it's so important to have a hotel, that offers it's guests the opportunity to have a drink or to meet other guests or to just sit and unwind after a day of activities. I feel that this hotel, would be a good fit, if you are planning on spending most of your time touring around, for a short stay because of it's limited amenities.
During our stay, the weather was on the cooler side so we did not use the pool, but would of loved to use the hot tub, but that was out of service.

Staff:'
The front desk and wait staff were all very pleasant and were always eager to help with any questions we had.

All in all we had a great time cycling around in Provence. I wish I could of given a better rating but because of the small let downs and of course the fact that our 25th anniversary wasn't acknowledged not even in the tiniest (a card wishing us a Happy 25th) ... where other hotels DID during our travels in France.

Dear Guests,
Following your detailed review about our hotel, we do remember you and your email stating that you were celebrating your 25th anniversary of wedding prior to your arrival.

After your initial email, we proposed you an upgrade or a bottle of champagne (with supplement) to make sure you surprised your husband with a nice thought.

We did not receive a reply after our email and we must admit, (it was a busy period at the time) after that, we completely forgot to note it on your reservation form so no one knew (the staff and ourselves, the managers) that you were expecting an aknowledgement of the event.

We do apologize for having forgotten all about your special anniversary and we are writing a reply to your comment to assure you that this was not purposely done. (we have about 50 emails per day to reply in the peak season).

We have, on the other hand , appreciated your nice comments about the staff , the food and the breakfast buffet, and we hope to make amends on your next trip to the roman provence .

only managed to get there for dinner as we had booked elsewhere for bandb however it just proved be good dinner with a charming young lady to serve and advise us.Thnk you very much we shall be back,good luck with your upcoming wedding
