Le Belvedere Bed and Breakfast

I think we were given the 'Chambre des Dames' — a spacious bedroom with huge beds, excellent linen and plenty of storage available in the large bathroom. The house is very special and has many lovely features and our room overlooked the front garden. Sleep quality was excellent and the breakfast generous and varied. Parking was available locally in the street.

Staying at the Belvedere was wonderful! Dominique and Jean-Renaud were the perfect hosts. We stayed 7nights and it was quite comfortable and clean. The breakfast table each morning was filled with fresh bread, homemade yogurt and jams, fresh fruit, and an assortment of cereal, along with lively conversation with other guests or with Dominique herself. The gardens are lovely and the atmosphere relaxed. Dominique provided us with maps and daily suggestions to get the most out of our time in the Loire Valley. we visited places the tour books failed to point out. Jean-Renaud, a quiet, unassuming gentleman (and an expert pilot) gave us an air tour over many of the beautiful castles in the region. It was a thrilling, and very memorable trip!

We thank you both for sharing your home with us! We left believing we had made two new and wonderful friends in Blere. We hope to see you on our next trip!

We stayed here as a family of four (teenagers 13 and 15 years old), and really enjoyed our stay. Bléré is a cute little town that is easy to get in and out of for day trips around the Loire Valley. Le Belvedere is at the perfect location within Bléré, just a block from the cafés and shops of the main square, but tucked into its own quiet street.

Dominique and Jean-Renaud are very courteous, helpful hosts. Breakfasts were very nice, including bread and croissants, an assortment of local cheeses, and homemade jams (or just cereal and milk for unadventurous kids).

Our rooms were very comfortable -- two bedrooms with a private bathroom in the middle. The internet worked just fine for me :-).

My husband and two children (13 & 15 yrs. old) stayed at Le Belvedere for three nights in July. We had one bedroom with a comfortable double bed in one room in the kids had two twin beds in a separate bedroom across the hall. We shared a bathroom which was in the hall between us. The bathroom looked newly renovated and the shower wa amazing. The height of the shower was North American standard as was the well sealed shower door (rare in Europe we noticed) The bedrooms and bathrooms we separate and it was like we had our own little appartment. Dominique is the perfect person to get advice on what to see and do and where to eat while in the Loire Valley. Blere was centrally located and the town was very quaint. I was surprised at the number of high quality restaurants in this small town. Our best meals in France were in Blere. The real treat was the airplane ride that my husband and son (separately since it is a two seater) had in Jean Renaud's airplane. The price for the airplane ride was far too reasonable so I will not write the amount in this review because I advised Jean Renaud to increase it. Please remember this is not a hotel it is a B&B. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay, centrally located, a delicious breakfast, great travel advice and friendly hosts then this is the place for you. If you want privacy no problem. The only time we spent with the hosts were at our request.

We loved our stay at Le Belvedere in Blere. We especially liked the relaxing atmosphere at the B+B. We were allowed to enjoy the gardens around the house, where we sat outside reading, watching the sunset and cuddling with the cats (who are not allowed in the rooms despite their valiant attempts). Breakfast with the other guests was a leisurely and delicious affair featuring locally made croissants, cheese and yogurt, plus amazing jams. The host Dominique was helpful, friendly and attentive, giving us advice ranging from which chateau to visit, which local restaurants to eat in to where I could buy an adapter for my computer. She is fluent in English for those who are non-Francophiles. If we ever make our way back to the Loire Valley, Le Belvedere is almost certainly a must stay for us.

We stayed for two nights at the beginning of our trip and were delighted with the lovely accommodation and excellent location. Dominique was a charming host who made us feel relaxed and welcome. She really went out of her way to help us when my husband got sick - she was genuinely concerned, sorting out an after hours visit to the doctor and even accompanying us because the doctor didn't speak English. The breakfast was superb, all homemade and delicious, served in the garden and Dominique was happy for the breakfast to be a leisurely one as we chatted we other guests. We had the lovely lodge in the garden which was very spacious with it's own bathroom and small kitchen area, our friends stayed in the house in a lovely room at the top of the stairs overlooking the garden - their first visit to France and Le Belvedere has given them a good impression. The village of Blere is a great traditional French village with lovely walks along the River Cher. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

We stayed with our at Le Belvedere for some rest. It was a beautiful building but Dominique, the wife of the owner was so full of attitude that this would be considered a breach under tthe trade description act .. shouting at children....telling you not to touch the wall ... lying about the wi-fi which does not work except in the hallway ... charging for using Paypal withjout telling you .... stalking you around to see what you mght do she does not approve of... cleaning up the room we were staying in at 10.30am despite a 11am checkout. Awful person to the extent that she interfered when her husband was trying to speak with us. I will definitely not go back. The children hated the place and asked not to go back.

I'm so sorry you did not enjoy your stay at Le Belvedere and to hear the kids hated it!No one ever shouted at them. They did not seem during their stay.
Le Belvedere is a house of charm and character; everybody can't appreciate and sometimes it's better to stay in a hotel, impersonal, only with anybody at the front desk, expensive WIfi connection, possibility of eating in the rooms.
Here, Wifi is free, works perfectly in the lobby.
The rooms are never cleaned before guets'departure, sorry if you had forgotten something in a room and came back in.
Hope you appreciated the places you stayed later.
Regards
Dominique Guillemot
