“Amazing location, incredible views, fantastic service”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

I LOVED this place!! Its right in the heart of Côte de Nuits. Near all the major wine villages like Vosne Romanee, Gevery Chambertin, Vougeot, etc. All the rooms are different and have different views. I opted for one of the superior rooms which can sleep 4 people. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. It really is a magical location in Burgundy. The hotel also sits among the best vineyards of Vougeot which really adds to the ambiance. What is really nice is they have a large wine cave where you can buy wine and enjoy either in your room or on the patio over looking the vineyards! Just an amazing moment to drink the wines from the vineyards you are sitting across. It made for a memory I will never forget. The service is amazing. The also have a breakfast and you can order cheese plates to go with the wine. This place is NOT to be missed.

I'm glad I selected the Hotel de Vougeot during a recent trip to the Burgundy region.
Very good value. Our room was impeccable with an amazing view on the vineyards of Vougeot.
The service was very friendly.
The morning breakfast served in the main house is fantastic. Amazing jams and viennoiseries.
You can't ask for more.
The managers both worked in Relais and Chateaux hotels and pay very much attention to details.
We shall be back next time we come back from Provence as it's a very plaisant stop over.

Room Tip: Ask for the building facing the vineyards. The premium is worth it. You have a parking lot right in...

Whave stayed here before and loved its simplicity and value in this area that is a plus. The other very definite plus was being able to take our dogs. They could just run straight out into the vineyards behind and then we were free to explore. No restaurant but a very good, separate ,breakfast room and Alain ,the owner is charm itself. Several excellent restaurants nearby. Rooms are simple but very clean and the bathrooms excellent. C

This is a B&B which seems to share a site with a winery. It's about 10/15 minutes from the morotway, and the welcome was warm and helpful. Our room was charmingly idiosyncratic (in a roof space) and although the bathroom was small, everything else was comformtable with everything we needed for a restful overnight stay. Parking was on site and gated, but the room was some distance from the car park and up several flights of stairs, so not suitable if lots of luggage has to be moved. Breakfast next morning was excellent French style.

Room Tip: If travelling with much luggage, ask for a room close to the car park.

I stayed at the Hotel de Vougeot for 3 days in July with my two young daughters, on our way to North Burgundy for a canal cruise. Being a wine lover I wanted to take some time for visiting this 'must be there' area. I chosed the hotel looking mostly to TA reviews, and the result was indeed very good. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Burgundy looking for real rural atmosphere with a good price-to-value. The hotel is excellently positioned in the middle of the Cotes, so we could organize northward and southward trips quickly and easily, adapting to weather (we had one full day of heavy rain), different traveler's wishes and .... stamina. B&B service only - breakfast rich and fresh as we like - but no problem in getting staff help for nearby restaurant reservations. Lots of room space, nice atmosphere, great view to the Clos de Vougeot, the vineyards, and the fantastic Cote de Nuit. Alain at the front desk was very helpful providing hints / suggestions for nice non-usual trips around the area. He procured also bikes for all of us for a very pleasant cycle trip around the nearby villages across the most renowned Crus.

The approach along the route of the 'grand cru' is utterly charming and so too is this excellent yet informal hotel. It's easy to find with ample parking. We'd asked for a view of the vineyard and were delighted to be warmly welcomed and shown to our lovely first floor room at the rear of the hotel, complete with private balcony. The room itself was spacious and simply furnished but well equipped with comfortable bed, television, telephone, mini bar as well as ensuite shower with hairdrier.
The idyllic location merited a relaxing evening, so we were pleased we had opted for their cold platter (or machon) rather than eating out. We were rewarded with a delicious selection of pate, cold meats, green salad, variety of breads, cheese and cake. We also visited their cellar to select wine to go with our meal - which was absolutely superb. (However also rather expensive....so in future we might take our own wine, or buy from one of the many 'caves' in the village, which seemed to be open until around 7pm). As it was a warm evening, it was delightful to enjoy a leisurely meal in their garden overlooking the vineyard and the Chateau de Clos de Vougeot. As the bats emerged in the twilight, we strolled up to the chateau and around the vineyards. Perfect!
After a comfortable night's sleep and an excellent hot shower, there was no rush for breakfast between 8-10am which is just as well because it's certainly the finest spread I've been offered so far in France. An exotic selection of fresh fruit juices and fresh fruits, dried fruits, cereals, yoghurts, breads, jams, pastries, hams, cheeses....even a machine for boiling your own egg! Fortunately check out is late (we left at 11 but I believe it's OK to stay until 12noon).
This has definitely been our favourite place to stay in France so far and we very much look forward to returning again....and again.

We stayed at the hotel for one night en route to our move to Italy. The room was a good size with a stunning view of the vineyard and nearby chateau. It was very clean and had nice toiletries in the tasetful bathroom. We had ordered cold cuts for our arrival which we enjoyed with a lovely bottle of red wine out in the patio area which was peaceful and very scenic.
The owners were friendly and welcoming, with great service. They even emailed us following our stay as we had left behind our son's coat and they offered to send it on to us.
We didn't really have much time in the area as it was just a stop off but it seemed nice for a short visit or to explore the local wine region.
Breakfast was provided and offered a good selection. For dinner we went to the local restaurant (I can't remember the name of it but I think there is only really one in the town). The food was good but the service wasn't great.
Overall a nice stay at a lovely hotel. We are planning to stop here again when we drive back to the UK in September.
