“Journey from Italy to Jersey”

I found La Beursaudiere by accident.
The A6 travelling north was a pain with one road works after another
I planned to be nearer Orlean, but glad I didn't
I spotted the restaurant and hotel in by rear view mirror as I road thru Nitry in the pouring rain
What a find, welcomed by Serge the owner who together with his incredibly talented wife have created a splendid retreat from the French Motorway traveller north or south.
Food superb, rooms fantastic, the ambience, without question hard to replicate.
Retuning? Without doubt.

Room Tip: I had the last remains room No.7 in the rafters, trust me it was superb.

Il s'agit d'une belle auberge avec beaucoup de caractère et tout le personnel était très serviable et sympathique.

We only stayed for one night but would have loved to stay longer. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very busy and seemed popular with both hotel guests and others not staying at this hotel. The dinner was lovely and reasonably priced. We also had breakfast which consisted of lots of fresh local produce. Delicious!

We will definitely stay here again and will recommend to our friends.

Charming hotel with well decorated rooms (with ancient touch). Efforts were also put in the garden/house decoration. We could have a big room accommodating 2 adults and 2 children.
Inside the hotel is dark and you can go through some caves to reach breakfast. Gave a strange feeling when we arrived.
We had dinner in the restaurant, very busy! Very good food with local flavors (slightly expensive). There is some small garden with activities for younger children.

Weak internet connection through the hotel.

I strongly recommend this hotel if you are in this area. Nitry as village is not worth (just a very small village with nothing interesting). You can buy good wines 500 m from the hotel at O. Boussard white wine house. You can also try the wines at hotel restaurant.

We will surely come back if we are in the region.

I stayed there driving from Geneva to Brittany....its a good stop-over. Unfortunately I was alone and a chain hotel would have sufficed but this auberge was a fanastic find. I stayed in Room 9 which looked onto the courtyard and was themed as sabot makers. The table I was proposed for dinner (as a single diner) was disappointing and even though it was far from full, I had a bit of a struggle to get moved to a decent table. The menu was good but could be improved by less range but a few signature or dishes of exceptional quality. Breakfast was fine. Pricing was certaintly on target and reflecting good value for money but it was at the top of its range.....which you could say is good for them. I would stay there again but probably not spend the premium as a single traveller. It is romantic and needs to be appreciated as such.

Beautifully restored place, very interesting, if a little precious. The themed bedrooms were a little over the top, somewhat akin to spending the night on a stage set. We used this as a stop-off as it is very close to the motorway so quick to get to. Motorway noise did not intrude, but knowing it was so close did detract somewhat from the charm of the surroundings. The restaurant was informal. Nice food, not amazing. We would definitely stay again if passing that way, but wouldn't go out of our way to revisit. A safe bet.

Nitry is a disappointing little place but some of the surrounding villages are delightful and Chablis a lovely small town. The Auberge is a little disappointing - very dark bedrooms and the breakfast expensive. The food in the restaurant is good overall and represents the region well. Staff were well trained and polite.

We had a very enjoyable stay at La Beursaudiere. The owner Serge was very personable and took time to show us around the inn which he had extensively restored from 17th century buildings. The restaurant attached to the inn was an excellent example of French dining and even had an English menu. The breakfasts were fantastic, especially if you like artisinal French cheese. All this and it is located on the edge of the Chablis wine region and a short drive from the very small but excellent region of Irancy. There are dozens of small wineries to go to and taste, and the one right next door to the inn has a fantastic pinot noir and oaked chardonay.
