Wish we discovered this delightful restaurant on our arrival in Avranches. Tucked away just off the main square well worth the 100 metre walk. The waiter was welcoming, spoke english to assist us when our limited french failed us. The foie gras terrine and crab and apple salad were delicious. We followed with the cod that was delicate and cooked to perfection. Could not recommend this lovely place highly enough. Ambience and decor added to the beautiful dinner. Great job guys!

After seeing Mont st. Michel (abbaye was closed due to a strike:() we knew we didn't want to eat at the tourist trap restaurants there, we went to Avranches a little before dinner time when the restaurant opened, so we waited...and we are so glad we did! The food is a little bit more pricey Co a few other places in the area (29 euro for starter + main) but worth it; it was delicious and delightfully presented. The foie gras and crab salad apps were the favorite, and my husband enjoyed to the last drop, literally, the cod with bacon sauce. The service was wonderful, the one waiter/bar tender had the hardest job in the place, didn't stop moving, and very graciously used English with us (merci!). I would definitely return if I am in the area. They were also very willing to host children.

We enjoyed our dinner very much. For starters we had a scalope kebab and tartiflette with bacon and reblochon. For the main course lamb in a parmesan and basel crust and a roasted bass. Technically everything was cooked/baked/roasted perfectly. The presentation was original and appealing. It might be a bit expensive for some, we paid about 70€ including drinks.

We really enjoyed our meal at Le Tripot. This is probably not a place we would have stumbled into, but it was recommended by our B&B hosts. The sea bass with citrus sauce that my mother ordered was fantastic. I will be trying to reproduce that sauce, though I'm sure I will not be able to make something that delicious. Since we were there on a Sunday some of the items were not available because they could not obtain all of the fish fresh on a Sunday. While this meant I had to order my second choice, it was very reassuring that the restaurant has such high standards. The service was good and we enjoyed looking at all the pictures of France's rugby team on the walls. As opposed to the more touristy restaurants we went to on our trip, this place seemed to express the passion of the owner--both in terms of the food and the decor.

This place was a great find recommended to us by our hotel. The food was amazing and the chef/owner was watching every plate that went out to ensure it was right. Reasonable in cost and nice and relaxing not stuffy.
