Even though my husband and I were the only ones at La Bastide at the time (late afternoon), and there were some road works just round the corner, the whole place had a really nice feel. Lots of care had been put into creating a welcoming ambience. Each table had little plant pots with flowers and they had dotted lights around the building to create atmosphere. Even the toilet was really pleasant with a childs crayon drawings around the wall and little knicks-knacks (very clean too). Lots of attention to detail. We both decided to have coffee and a "pruneaux" (prune) crepe, which was delicious! Very sweet and very yummy. The service was excellent. I think the woman was the owner and she was very attentive, coming back several times whilst we (I) decided what to have. Given the other positive reviews here I imagine the main food is very good and no doubt we will try that on our next visit. Two extra points, it was not over priced given its location and there are views across the square too.
