“Great holiday!”
Reviewed July 26, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

My husband and I and our two young daughters spent two weeks in La Fargeotte in July 2013. We were very impressed by the property and really enjoyed our holiday there.

Paul and Jill were extremely helpful and always available to deal with our queries. Our girls loved chatting with them and Jill and Paul were very kind to them.

The gite is very well equipped. Everything we needed was there. The children's bedroom has lots of books and toys. Our girls loved playing with these. They adored the splash pool also and we all really enjoyed messing about in the barn, playing table tennis and pool. The patio area by the pool is a real sun trap and it was great to relax there while the kids played in the pool.

La Fargeotte is in a great location for exploring the general Dordogne area. We particularly loved Sarlat, Limeuil, Perigieux and Domme. Jacquou' Parc was a winner with the girls- so much so that we visited it for a second time during our second week. Our girls are 4 and 7 and the rides in Jacquou' Parc are particularly suitable for the Under 10's. It's handy that it's so close by too- just 10 minutes up the road!

All in all, La Fargeotte ticked all the boxes for us. We have travelled extensively in France over the past 7 years and have rented many gites. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking to holiday in the Dordogne!

“Great location, excellent Gite.”

We stayed with our 2 girls at La Forgeotte for 3 nights in early June this year and had a great time. We found Paul and Jill very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The gite was well equiped and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us. It would also be good for 2 couples with a couple of children. After busy days exploring, the girls had fun picking videos to watch and my husband enjoyed the English channels. Although the gite is not located in a township, it makes a great home base while exploring the many towns close by. We only wished that we'd had more time to explore the Dordogne region as there was so much to do.

“Excellent Accomodation and Lovely Hosts.”
Reviewed June 22, 2011 for a stay in May 2011

We love this place. The gite is large, very clean and nicely furnished. It has everything you could want. An added bonus is the games room and the pool is great to cool off during those long hot French days. The garden is a quiet place to sit and relax to the sound of the little river splashing gently over a weir. If you do get a wet day and stay in there are plenty of DVDs, Videos and games to keep everyone entertained.

We have been back there 3 times now, and all the tourist sites are only a short drive from the gite. If you are lost for somewhere to visit just ask Jill & Paul, they are helpful and very friendly. We had a problem with our car while we were there, and Jill & Paul came with us to a garage (about 25 miles) to help with the translation.

Highly recommended.

“Great place, worth every penny”
Reviewed June 6, 2011 for a stay in June 2011

I decided to go to La Fargeotte after reading the great reviews that the gite had received and I had also been told about it by friends who had been previously.

On arrival I was greeted by the friendly owners who were very helpful. The gite was everything that it was described as and the inclusion of the games area for children was a good idea.

There is lots to do in the local area within a short drive. Le Bugue is a nice town which is not very far away and Limeuil, where the two rivers meet is a beautiful place to spend some time.

I would recommend La Fargeotte to anybody.
