Never having stayed at a campsite previously, we were surprised how wonderful it was. We stayed in a chalet for only 33 euros a night. The atmosphere was great as there weren't a lot of people and the weather was perfect spring weather. The chalet was loaded with amenities like kitchen supplies, a coffee maker, a microwave and extra blankets. The proximity to Sarlat and many other towns near the Dordogne River makes the location exceptional.
Unfortunately we do have huge complaints about the service in reception. When we arrived there was chaos as the girl didn't seem to know who we were despite the e-mails I showed her of the correspondence between the director and I. The language seemed to be a BIG problem as we only speak English and Spanish and the director spoke only French. The girl, who spoke English, seemed to laugh a lot with the director in our company and she was unfriendly. We believe the director talked bad about us right in front of us, but in French of course and with his colleagues. It took the director forever to check us out and they also forgot to mention when explaining to us where the bicycle trail is (to the annoyance of the director as it was the second time he had to so) that there was a 100 KILOMETER RACE that same day. So when we told them that our outing was marred (you can imagine as we took our dog) they didn't even offer to compensate us for the inconvenience.
Overall the only things lacking are organization and customer service in RECEPTION. But if you can get over that, then it is an ideal campsite in Aquitane.
