We went hiking in the morning and did the beach in the afternoon. The man at the front was really helpful and enthusiastic. We climbed the stairs to the Dune Lookout and then walked the beach to our car. Really fun!!

Was an enjoyable experience. The waves were pretty big which allowed some of the visitors to body board. Sand and beach area were pretty clean. There was a sand dune if you wanted to do a little hiking. There are bathrooms where you can change at the parking lot. Only downside was no place to rinse off. Left us sandy for the ride home. If we had known this probably would of went someplace else

Great time was had by my family at this State Park. The water was clear and very shallow which was perfect for the kids ages 2 and 6. The view of the sand dunes was very scenic. Nice clean beach that was a perfect way to spend the last few hours of a holiday weekend (and it wasn't overly crowded.)

We camped here with our 3 year old and 6 week old baby. Campground was nice. Bathrooms were clean, showers were separate and were their own room which I liked. It was sunny the whole time we were there but I could easily see the campsites becoming a mud pit if it was rainy. For a family with young children the walk to the beach in the campground is long. Depending on where you are located in the campground it is at least 3/4-1/4 mile walk. the 1/4 is on sand. You must carry everything-not so easy when you have 2 kids to carry too. The public beach in the park, which is a 2 min drive from the campground, has a very short paved walk to the beach along with bathrooms and a changing house (which there is nothing except a port a potty at the campground beach) that is far more young children family friendly. although we did not bring them- bikes would have made things a little better. Despite the walk-both beaches are gorgeous and the park is very nice-check in staff was really friendly and extremely helpful in providing info about the area and the wave policies for the lake. Would definitely come here again.
