Stayed here for one night, we were in the area to pick our daughter up from Camp Blue Lake. Honestly, was a little concerned as we approached, a closed hotel sat nearby, a liquor store near the entrance to the hotel driveway. On the plus side, there was also an American Legion or VFW nearby, figured if they probably keep an eye on things going on around there.
As we got close to the Travelodge, the exterior of the building looked to be new or recently redone. Inside, the same. Only exception was the hallway carpet that showed some wear. Our room was clean, the beds firm but comfortable. Certain items showed wear/age: the in room coffee maker, the clothes rod, the tube tv. Everything else was fine.
The breakfast in the morning was standard: cold cereal, some fruit, muffins, bagels, bread, eggo type waffles, coffee, milk, and juice. Breakfast area was clean. Checkout was fast. The limited interaction we had with employees was all good.
If you are looking for just a place to get a good nights sleep, no fancy bells and whistles, this is a good spot, especially considering the price was decent. If you are staying in the area, you need to make reservations early, as this part of Michigan has lots of places and activities that attract travelers needing rooms. I waited a little and when I booked this room, there were a few other choices left in the area, but at much higher rates.
