TNJ has a great breakfast diner vibe, and has good, solid predictable food. It's a welcome change from chain restaurants like Bob Evans, or the truck driver/blue collar breakfast spots that all serve the same unimaginative stuff. That said, TNJ could be a bit more creative and urban in it's offering to make it a great regional restaurant, vs. a great local restaurant. Signature items, a bit more "foodie"-ish items vs. the typical fare would be awesome... but that said, I really like this place. You won't be disappointed...

“Best breakfast you will ever eat.”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

You just have to go there, it's a breakfast experience! Huge menu, about anything you could ever want for breakfast. Really unique décor, you will surly enjoy. Most times you might have to wait a bit but it will be worth it.

“Great weekend breakfast spot...”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

We like to frequent locally-owned restaurants as often as possible. Toast 'N Jams does not disappoint. I would say its forte really is breakfast. Portion size is enormous. Husband likes the eggs benedict offerings, as well as the quiches. Kids love the pancake combos. I usually go for the skillet of hashbrowns which has everything tossed in.

Decor is cheerful and very vintage, wait staff is really friendly (especially kerri). We always feel welcome when having Saturday brunch in this place. A word of caution: during spring and summer months (when the snowbirds come back), the place gets really crowded between 9 and 10 am...a wait can go as long as 30 minutes. come in after 10:30 or before 9 to avoid that. holidays: double that. winters are no problem at all.

I'd say the pricing is about what it is at Bob Evans, but the food is better and it's a local place. There are some meals available for those on a more strict diet, but these are lower in fat, therefore a little drier...and sometimes not as much fun as the rest of the menu.

Great way to start a weekend!

“Expensive, but delicious”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Home baked goods, house cured meats, and high quality breakfast dishes are the hallmarks of this fine resturant. The homemade bread and Jam is always a highlight, but leave room for the pancakes. Also really liked the corned beef hash. Quality comes at a price and be prepared to spend a little more than you might be used to for breakfast. You will also likely have to wait a few minutes for a table, but the staff does a good job of turning things quickly.
