What a lovely place in a beautiful location right on the water. The elegant lobby should have prepared us but we were stil amazed when we entered our room (corner, king room on 2nd floor) to find a huge room, beautifully furnished and 3 sets of patio doors (unfortuantely no screens so we had to close them when the mosquitoes appeared at dusk). The doors do not lead to step out balconies but the views of the marina, the lake and the marina restaurant (which had great food and music) were terrific. The clean room had a FULL SIZE refrigerator, a couch and easy chair in addition to a table with two chairs!!!
Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The "business center" was in a corner of a large sitting area off the lobby with 4 computers and a couple printers. The breakfast room was very spacious and sunny with the typical complimentary breakfast.
The marina area had an outdoor pool, laundry facilities and the very nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. The hotel has a 24 hour indoor pool and whirlpool on a lower level.
This hotel is a true gem!!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are well worth the extra $

We stayed one night at Shoreline Inn during late July. Hotel is cozy and decorated nicely with old stuff. The staff was friendly. Our room was ok with microwave oven and freezer. Only complaint is noisy AC which was mentioned in other reviews too. They should fix the problem immediately.
Breakfast was ok too served in spacious restaurant with nice views to marina and the lake.
Lake House Waterfront Grille just outside of the hotel serves good food. Boat people gathered there and seemed to enjoy themselves like we did too.
Outside pool is ideal for sunny days and they have another pool inside with hot tub. The hotel is bit remote from the town itself but it didn´t bother us much.

My husband and I took our kids up to Muskegon to get away from it all, and we looked up hotels in the area, and he came across Shoreline Inn. We went by the reviews from others, and I have to say that it was worth trusting others!! This is a wonderful, clean and very nice hotel. We had a nice corner room where we could see some of the harbor and boats. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tubs. I would recommend this hotel to others and of course would come back! Not one problem to comment on :)

Room Tip: Corner suites are nice, more on the harbor side I would recommend

The room was lovely. The location, very scenic. So why not a 5 star? Not really sure, but I have to blame the pool and breakfast.
The indoor pool CLEARLY had "no glass in pool areas" and "no food or drink" signs posted. So explain, please, the extended family of 12 or so who had a huge cooler filled with bottles of beer, several pizzas, and snacks...eating IN a hot tub...? It had become quite overcast, so maybe they moved a picnic indoors, but several (very young, probably summer hire) employees walked through the area and saId nothing. This same group punctuated dinner with cannonballs into the rather small pool. Just not what I enjoyed. In fact, we went down at dinner time hoping the pool would be relatively empty. May have been if they hadn't brought dinner IN!
Also, what was that weird 6"thick foam in the 2nd hot tub? Just asking...
And, breakfast. Our mistake. It runs from 6AM to 10AM and we waited til 9:30. The spread was generous, including awesome do it yourself waffles that produced perfect Belgians in 2 minutes. Yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, pastries, cereal...what's not to like? Well, it was EXTREMELY crowded. Many, many small kids darting unsupervised around the buffets. Call me spoiled but I'm accustomed to a few scattered business people quietly sipping coffee and reading their paper. This was bedlam. Be forewarned and go out for breakfast if you want peace and quiet.
So yes, we loved the hotel. Are you a grown up? Go midweek after school starts again. Families, this seems to be a no holds barred oasis with plenty to keep the brood happy
