Very large beach area. Room for everyone, and then some....Nice lighthouse and pier out to it. Great area for sunset photos.

All along the western coast, especially Pere Marquette has some really nice, clean, white sand beaches. There were plenty of places to pull along and park, cookout and have a nice day at the beach.

My family loves Pere Marquette Beach! It's free family fun for all ages! There's a dog beach for your furry family. If the waves intimidate you, there's a spot between the two lighthouses that doesn't have the high waves & crazy riptides. Plus... Jays Boards is down there everyday with paddle board rentals. If you haven't tried the new craze of Stand up paddleboarding(SUP), here's your chance!. It's great family fun. My 7yo & 18yo love it!
We have rented a couple times, and Jay always shows you the ropes. We haven't done a sunset cruise yet but plan on it. Great fun for under $25.

Towards the middle of Pere Marquette there's a rinse station, bathrooms & snack shop! No worries if you forgot something.

Close to the water filteration plant there's surf board rentals & lessons for those of you that want to catch some air kiteboarding.

There's also absolutely beautiful sandy beaches for the rest of us looking to get a little R & R!

Yes, I'am a local. I take advantage of this beauty that's only minutes from my home.

If you brought your bike, there's fabulous bike trails along the boardwalk & through the dunes.

No need for a state park pass. This site is all free! Don't miss this beach while your in town! Follow up a day at the beach at one of our local eateries like The Station Grill, Mangoes, Fatty Lumpkins!

Ample parking, lovely soft sand, refreshing Lake Michigan water, room for lots of people. Could have used more shade trees along the walkway.
