It's owned by the city so there is no state entrance fee like many Michigan beaches. Because of it large size it's not crowded even on a hot summer day.

Great place to lay out, swim, kite surft etc. The biggest downfall is there is no food or place to buy drinks so bring your own cooler. THe peir is a great place to walk and take pictures. Ample parking

Beautiful park on Lake Michigan. So many areas to swim, picnic, relax. White sand and clean. Bring your camera.

In spite of the sand blasting wind we enjoyed walking the board walk and around through the woods today. 1.65 miles every time you walk over the hill and through the wood. Watching the sun kiss the rolling white caps on Lake Michigan makes the time fly by and the pounds melt off. Plenty of parking, walk the Pier if the waves aren't too bad or check out the light house on the end of the NOAA station, just stay between the yellow lines to walk on back. Walk the channel down to the submarine. To find the boardwalk roll on down to the water station. We drive down in the evening for gorgeous sunsets. Best drive up water front you'll every find. Plenty of parks to run the kids wheels off. B-rooms are closed in the winter, plenty of parking no matter what end you find yourself in. Park closes after sunset.

This amazing park is worth the drive to Lake Michigan. Great sandy beach stretches for a long time, ending at a scenic pier. Always something interesting going on to watch like kite boarding. It is the areas best park. Don't forget to add a visit the nearby Silversides Museum for a wonderful day trip.
