A friend and I splurged and had the menu of the week (62 euros) and the suggested wines (29 euros). Each course was total surprise. The taste for each course was the opposite of what I expected. A great adventure. Well worth it.

We did not stay in the hotel, but ate in its restaurant (not to be confused with the Winstub). We had a truly memorable meal, preceded by no less than three amuses bouche and a small glass of soup. There were "Ooh, ah, wow" tastes in every dish - and especially in the lobster and the venison. Portions are very small, but we made up for this when presented with what was probably the best cheese board we have ever seen; and a wonderful collection of petits fours to go with the coffee. (I confess to having eaten four different macaroons).

So why not an excellent grading? Well food like this comes at a price - and at the price we were paying we would have expected better service. Our wine, for example, was placed in a bucket out of our reach, and we twice had to ask a waiter to re-fill our glasses. A small failing perhaps, but the staff to customer ratio was high enough to have ensured that we got better attention.

A great place to base if you are visiting the Alsace wine region. Chambard is perfectly wine country charming on the outside, while the inside is perfectly modern. Our room was spacious and quiet, the staff is extremely sweet, and don't miss breakfast in what I think is the most beautiful area of the hotel - just a few steps down from the lobby, it's a lovely room of stone walls and wood beams. Chambard is nicely located at the entrance to Kaysersberg - just step outside toward the front and you are in the pedestrian area with shops, cafes and restaurants. Step out to the back of the hotel and you are in the vineyards. It's just a short walk either through the village or the vineyards to Chateau Kaysersberg (of which we had a wonderful view from our balcony).

Room Tip: We stayed on the backside with views of the vineyards, it was nice and quiet with a balcony and lovely view of the Chateau Kaysersberg.

We booked this room 24hrs before we arrived, decided to book just one night after reading a few negative reviews on TA. Wish we had booked for two nights, what a great hotel.

The decor inside the hotel is a pleasant surprise and added interest to our stay. Our room, number one, was huge with a extremely comfortable bed. There was also a small terrace to sit and relax and take in the view of the vineyard terraces stretching up,the hillside.

The staff could not have been more helpful, would throughly recommend this hotel.

Kayserberg a pretty town, full of timbre framed houses with window boxes stuffed with geraniums. The town is surrounded by vineyards which are criss-crossed with cycle routes/walking paths should you wish to explore.

We enjoyed eating at the Flammenkusch, a traditional Alsacian dish, restaurant across the road for the hotel, friendly attentive staff and delicious menu.

Very nice and quiet hotel in the beautiful city, Kaysersberg. The staff speaks excently English and is very helpfull. Our trippleroom was quite large and had a small bay window. The spa-area is very nice and cosy and there are free bathrobes and towels in the rooms. We only stayed one night, but we'll definitely choose this hotel again, next time we go to Kaysersberg.
