“Don't miss it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2011

Kaysersberg is a delightful town in the Alsace on the Wine Route. Chambard is a labor-of-love hotel and restaurant that should not be missed if you are traveling in the Alsace. All of the food is magnificent -- "Best croissant I've ever had," said my wife. Our room was attractively decorated and had a very nice view. Everything was very clean and everything worked. Every staff member was exceptionally hospitable and more than willing to help us fumble through our minimal capabilities with the French language. We would happily go back.

great staff, wonderful casual restaurant, neat old building, simple but very nice spa facilities, perfect end to our trip. We would have normally stayed at the well reviewed but less pricey Hotel Rampart. Glad we stayed here (no knock on Rampart). Real nice experience. Hotel was not busy and they offered to bump us into a better room.

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel and absolutely loved it! We had a spacious, clean room with an even bigger bathroom with superb shower. Room was big enough for us and a baby cot for our two year old daughter. We took the package with dinner in the Winstub and the other night in the restaurant: both absolute value for money and the restaurant was one of the best we had in France: modern cuisine with divine wines at sharp prices. Both times they changed the menu a bit without any further costs. The spa is not large but very nice and in the same building as hotel/restaurant (only the third restaurant Flamme&Co is just across the street). The only small dissapointment was that you can't get a drink at say 17h; there is no restaurant bar (you would have to wait untill the restaurants opens at 19h).

Great hotel at a very nice, typical little town at Alsace region. Just perfect weekend. You can drop your luggage and go for a tour in town and see all the typical buildings in a very calm scene. Then back to the hotel, get prepared for the nice dinner at their restaurant, in a great combination of very well prepared dishes and the local wines. One of our best experience in France!

We decided to go for a weekend in Alsace, just during the famous Christmas market. In the morning we called the hotel to book a room for two days and we managed to get the last available room. Once we arrived there, we were happy that the hotel had a private parking : during the Christmas market it is very hard to find a parking spot. The hotel is very nice, our room (101) was very nice and large. The only pity was the bathroom: a bit oldish: the room had clearly been renovated recently, but the bathroom was still dating the 80s. It was nice to have a glass instead of the dirty curtain in the bathub, but still it was desperately urging for a modernization. The are two restaurants in the hotel: a gastronomic which is rather nice and a brasserie (we only had lunch there). The village is very nice and crowded, rather touristic as the restaurants threin, so do book at one of the two hotel's restaurants. Breakfast was nice, very French. In the hotel there is a very nice spa with a pleasant pool. A real jewel in a tiny village. But do think about asking for a room with a newly refurbished bathroom ;-)
