1 night stay in Oct 2012 :
Building - charming, well maintained, indepedant access for B&B, private parking
Room - good combination of modern & traditional, extremely comfy bed & quality bedding, clean & fresh
Welcome - friendly, knowledgable, welcoming
Breakfast - plentiful, fresh, homemade, quality all served in an independant kitchen breakfast area.

A home, from home, only better

The towels could do with being bigger - that is the only -ve point we could find!

We will go back & would advise anyone visitng the area to do the same.

We stayed for 4 nights in at Au Caveau Su Vieux in Itterswiller from where we explored the wine route. The hosts, Christelle and Pascal were friendly and we appreciate their effort to serve us just the best at breakfast and in the evenings in their restaurant. They made an effort to communicate to us in english.

We stayed two nights at Au Caveau Du Vieux Pressoir in Itterswiller, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This ‘restaurant avec chambres’ has three rooms to offer to accommodate their guests. All three are completely different. Don’t expect any luxury, but the rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. One little point of criticism could be that our beds were not made during the day, but for the rest there is nothing but positive feedback.

We arrived on a Tuesday, which is their weekly day of closing the restaurant, so unfortunately we were only able to enjoy Pascal Woirou’s cooking skills on the Wednesday evening. His dishes are pure, lovely presented and truly delicious. What an absolute delight to spend the evening in this cosy restaurant. The front of house is looked after by Christelle Woirou, who is a lovely host. Furthermore, she served all the tables that night (and there were quite some guests) with accuracy combined with friendliness.

Breakfasts at this place are served in a small breakfast room, and offer a nice variety of fresh breads, jams, cheese and meat.

This is a place to remember, and to return to whenever you have the chance.

We stayed for five nights at the "Vieux Pressoir" in Itterswiller. The hotel is ideally situated along the "Route du Vin", half way between Strassburg and Colmar.
Our spacious, quite confortable room was overlooking the vineyards.
The breakfast was not continental at all: a vast range of breads, croissants and koughelhopf, fresh fruit salads, not to mention delicious marmelades and a choise of cheeses.
The chef Pascal serves an inventive, sparkling cuisine, miles away from the sometimes huge portions of food they serve in nearby restaurants. Definitively worth a mention in the Michelin. Besides that, Christelle gave us good advice to the marvellous Alsace wines and the local winemakers.
We surely will come back!

This B&B is definitely well worth booking if you are visiting the area. We were made immediately welcome on arrival by our hosts Christelle and Pascal who cannot do enough to help and are very friendly. . The rooms are part of a very old building and have been renovated and modernised but are still in keeping with the ambience of the Vieux Pressoir. Our room was large enough to have a seating area, the bathroom was modern and very clean and overall the room was charming. The view from our room over vineyards was beautiful.
While Christelle seems charged with managing front of house, Pascal is chef and we ate in the restaurant both nights as the food is absolutely delicious! Definitely not to be missed! The breakfast also drew an "Ahhhhh..." from us when we walked into the breakfast room. The quality and amount is staggering. Little pots of creamy yogurt with fresh raspberries and raspberry coulis, cereals, fresh crispy bread, almond, chocolate and plain croissants, a selection of ham, cheeses and jams with plenty of fresh tea or coffee each morning was a beautiful way to start the day. Christelle is always at hand to check if everything is OK and to ensure that all your needs are met.
The village of Itterswiller is a lovely example of the villages on the Route des Vins. It is made up of medieval looking houses as well as more modern chalets but all are in keeping with one another and decorated with sumptuous displays of flowers in every manner of basket. In fact the flower displays are one of the highlights of the Route that will remain in our memories. There are plenty of opportunities to taste and buy wine from the Alsace region in the village whether from shops or the vine growers themselves.
When we left Christelle and Pascal came out to wave us off which was a nice parting touch. We cannot praise our hosts and their establishment highly enough.

Room Tip: All are lovely but the two at the back are larger

Quaint little B & B, very comfortable, and a beautiful view. Christelle is so sweet and welcoming, and Pascal is a wonderful Chef! Make sure to eat at the restaurant...delicious! We stayed for only 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer.
