“Interesting historic spot”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Take advantage of the tour guide at the entrance. Signs are well placed and in both Spanish and English. Really neat piece of history to learn about and see firsthand, with great views of the Momotombo volcano and the Lake.

“interesting!!!”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

If you want to know a little bit more about Nicaragua History, it is a good place to go!!!
Guides explain who funded it and why they had to left this city and moved to the New Leon area.
They are improving the museum and other areas to provide a better experience to the tourist.
Discriptions of the diferent sites are bilingual, they only have one bilingual guide.

“Important Historical site”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

If you want to know some interesting history about Leon make a stop here. This site is also a Unesco World Heritage site. It only takes like 30 minutes to walk through and view the ruins, though they are not very visually exciting there is a lot of great history that is actually a bit gruesome. There are lots of nice plants in the area here and an excellent view of Momotombo and Momotombito Volcanoes here. I am not a big history or museum person but i enjoyed this stop, it was outside and i got to walkt around while some told me a story of the past. Also lots of great birds here to.

“Not Much to See”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

There really isn't a whole lot to see here. Ruins of some walls only a few feet high. There was one English speaking guide who did a nice job explaining what little there was to explain. There is a spot on top of a hill that offered a great view of the valley and the volvano. The visit was intersting but probably not worth the designation as a United Nations World Heritage Site, just not that much there.

“Interesting”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

The ruins aren't that substantial, but the landscape is beautiful, and the history is very cool. Went with Tierra Tours
