We spent basically the entire day with our guide, Anry, and kicked things off with a two hour tour and history lesson in Leon. He was extremely knowledgable, and although it was beyond hot outside, he kept things exciting for the duration of it. Afterwards we took off to Cerro Negro for some volcano boarding. Since our group was too large to fit in the van, Anry took a bunch of us in his truck (I will never turn down the opportunity to ride in the back of a pickup haha). He led the group to the top with more energy than people I know who are half his age, explained the best techniques to get the most out of our ride down and let us rip. It was a blast.. The part I failed to mention is how on our way to Cerro Negro, we stopped by a couple 'houses' owned by local families. We were able to bring gifts for the children and play a bit of soccer as well. This act of giving never felt forced upon us. After seeing all of their faces light up, it also ended up being the most fulfilling part of my day.
As far as I know, Anry is currently the sole guide of Mas Adventures. His knowledge, genuine love and sincerity towards his country made this far more than just a tour. If you're after a good time with lots of laughs, you will not be disappointed.
