“Yummy Coffee When You Crave the Real Thing”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

Went for a week and my hotel, one of the best in leon, had powder coffee in the room.

So every morning I went to la Rosita and for the princely sum of 33 cordobas (about $1.25 US) I had a lovely handmade large cafe latte, lovingly made.

Very much worth it. Highly recommend if you're nearby.

“Doesn't live up to the hype”
Reviewed June 10, 2014 via mobile

Ate here last night, and was disappointed frankly. Sure, the food was cheap(ish), but their idea of a salad is laughable. They claimed it came with Avocado, for example, and I received a pencil-thin strip of unripe green flesh.

The portions are tiny, the food is average at best. My girlfriend ate a sandwich, and what came out was essentially a paper-thin Quesadilla; hardly a sandwich. My friend ordered a panini, and while it looked tasty, again it was tiny; not worth the price, especially in Nicaragua.

One thing this place is good for though is beer - 50 Cordoba for an ice cold litre of Toña.

“Coffee, a view, and cheap tasty food”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

La Rosita is my home away from my Leon home. It's a two-story cafe very close to the center. The upstairs is the best place to sit for great views of the street and far off volcanos, not too mention getting the breezes in the heat and seeing the downpours in the rainy season.

Very inexpensive with a varied menu and great service. They offer beer as well as coffee and frescos (fresh fruit drinks) and great pastries (I love their oatmeal cookies) along with yummy panninis and local standards like gallo pinto (rice and beans).

It is a favorite of tourists what with the free wifi and great location but you'll see a lot of local high school and university students there after their classes.

“Good but sometimes unbelievable slow”

They serve good breakfast and really good espresso for an exaptable price, but most of the time the waitresses are soooooo slow!
