“Had a great time with Bigfoot!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Stayed at Bigfoot for two nights in late September and everything was great. Really chilled out during the day, but the staff make sure you have an awesome time at night - drinking games, dress ups and a bar crawl... what more could you want of an evening in Leon?
Volcano boarding was wicked - totally exhilarating! Stay at Bigfoot and enjoy Leon!

If you want to do volcano boarding at the best location in the world, then stay here and book it through bigfoot hostel. The hostel itself has a good chilled out vibe and is perfect for people backpacking across nicaragua.

I would highly recommend carlos who took us volcano boarding as he made the experience far more enjoyable. He talked us through some really interesting facts about the volcano and the surrounding area before taking some amazing professional photos of us volcano boarding.

Spent two nights at the Big Foot Hostel in Leon. This hostel was probably one of the cleanest hostels ever, the floors and tables are constantly being wiped down. The rooms could definitely use more fans as it gets extremely hot at night. The bar closes a bit earlier than what I'm use to but in all fairness, they are very respectful of those trying to get sleep. And the staff will take guests out on the town after the bar closes to have some fun. Did not find the staff that personable compared to other hostels in nicaragua BUT there is a few that definitely help the vibe of the hostel. Big ups to Carlos, who does the volcano boarding for the hostel. Takes awesome photos and very informative on the hike up the volcano. Volcano boarding is an absolute MUST if you go to Leon and I recommend doing it with Big Foot Hostel. Had lots of laughs on this excursion, made for great memories.

Thanks for the feedback Amanada. We're developing training manuals emphasizing customer service. The dorm rooms will all run on air conditioning pretty soon. I hope you can come back and see the place after we make a few improvements. That costume party created a monster at bigfoot, it's become a regular event. You guys killed it here!

Me and my friend stayed in big foot to go volcano boarding, which is offered through the hostel as a package with accommodation, breakfast and 2 mojitos when you return. It was great choice. The staff at the hostel is very helpful and friendly, we ended up going out and partyin with them both nights of our stay and we had a great time. the volcano boarding was amazing as well, little scary when you are about to go down, but i highly recommend it. Overall, i loved the hostel,it was clean and loits of fun people around.

Volcano Boarding was fantastic. Definietely a challenging hike to get up to the top but a wonderful view and a fun time getting down. Hostel was nice and clean, quiet time was well adhered to! Staff were kind and pool tables and hammocks were a great bonus !
