“Best place to stay”

We stayed at Lazy Bones 1 night while waiting for space at another hostel - Wish we'd stayed at Lazy Bones instead. The pool is gorgeous and awesomely cold, there's a cool vibe and the staff is awesome - Really good at recommended places to eat and tours to do, super friendly and a good mix of english speakers. We did the cooking class at Lazy bones instead of one of the tours. It was about half the price and was awesome. Janina only spoke Spanish, and we only spoke a little, but we had a great day, learnt lots and had a great time. Highly recommending! Also, it was one of the cleanest hostels we've been to.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a fan - Leon is hot and humid

We stayed for 2 nights and it was one of the best hostels we have stayed in on our trip through Central America.

The facilities are fantastic; the pool area in particular. The dorm rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Relaxed vibe but we had a lot of fun there.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

I would highly recommend staying here.

We staid in a room with a private bathroom. Both were quit ok. But with a stay of 5 nights we would have expected a cleaning service someday. Everything in this hotel seems to be a little bit out worn. And for a price tag of 30 USD in Léon there should be a better offer. The staff on the other hand was always very helpful, friendly and the free coffee was a big plus.

Lazybones is a great hostel if you're looking for a spot that's relatively mellow. There weren't a lot of people hanging out and drinking or talking loudly. I was a little bit surprised how early things got quiet considering the awesome communal spaces that this hostel has. There are a ton of great hammocks and chairs around the internal courtyard, and there are also a number of tables around the pool area. (By the way, I also never saw anyone in the pool...)

We spent most of our time here in the communal spaces, as the private rooms themselves are relatively small and bare. We weren't expecting luxury and I found the cleanliness and basic furnishings to be perfectly adequate. Some sound gets through the walls, but nothing crazy. There are more than enough shared bathrooms and they're all clean and decent. Even if you ended up being unhappy with this hostel itself for some reason, it's in a great central location that gives you easy walking access to sights nearby. The staff is really friendly and they all speak great English.

We also booked the sand boarding trip through the hostel and it was really a great time. The ride to Cerro Negro is pretty neat because you take a lot of back roads and see a different side of Leon. The highlight for me was the hike to the top of Cerro Negro, as the scenery is beautiful and our guide had a ton of great information for us about what we were seeing. The boarding itself is fun, and the hostel fixes you up with "goggles" (sunglasses), gloves, and handmade sand boarding suits. There didn't seem to be anything even remotely dangerous about it to me, but I guess you could get a little banged up if you wiped out.

I'd definitely recommend this spot!

This hostel has a great location, friendly staff, and is very clean and comfortable with a nice pool to swim in.. plus it's not a big party scene so it's nice and quiet at night. It was the best city hostel of my entire trip!

A great hostal if you are looking for somewhere a little slower paced but incredibly relaxing. The pool is a huge bonus in a place like Leon and it is easy to pass the day away reading and sleeping in the hammocks. Staff are very helpful with any questions you have and the whole place is quite clean and secure. Only complaint is how long it has taken to unlock my door sometimes.
