One of our party is taking online college classes, and so we made sure to book a cottage that advertised WiFi. When we arrived the WiFi was out, so we attempted to contact the owner, who was not available, his mom was covering. She was nice and tried to be helpful, but was reluctant to make decisions. The college student did some of her classwork outside near other cottages, and we had to make multiple phone calls to get the situation settled. The WiFi situation added stress to the visit and meant spending too much time of our vacation dealing with that instead of relaxing, and the connection was not great after the fix. We also would have appreciated more towels.
The location is beautiful and well situated to many local attractions. I definitely would choose a different rental if you need to be able to access Internet for work or school.
We really liked our stay. The location is great, it is secluded, with only a few cottages around the property. The Fire pit is in the middle of the property, and one by the river. Bring bug spray! The cottage was great, the stove, microwave, fridge all worked great for our stay.
A few things to consider: The water pressure in the shower isn't great, and the bathroom door almost impossible to close without a really strong push. Also, the water filter on the sink was needing of changing, but we just drank from water jugs we bought. ALSO, phone connection is limited/non existent in and around cottage. We had to drive 5 minutes to get reception. (ATT) If this is a problem for stayers, maybe don't stay here.
Overall though, the cottage was awesome. Cory was a great host, and responds very quickly. I would recommend this cottage and we will def. stay again when we come back!
Lovely little cabin. Clean and cozy. We stayed 5 days. Close to picture rocks national park, and sable falls, the sable grand dunes and everything the UP had to offer. Corey was helpful and had an excellent response time. We will stay there again when we are back up that way.
Loved it!We will be back. This cabin was just right for my husband and I. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. Cory was awesome and so helpful.
We loved our stay at Cory's cottage. It was perfect for two of us, and had more than we needed in terms of supplies in the kitchen (I was looking for a toaster and found an espresso machine, completely unexpected!) The cottage was clean and comfortable for us (including a comfy bed) as a home base to explore the UP. Also included was WiFi and a Roku TV with Netflix. It's a nice balance of being in the woods, but connecting to the world again if you want to.
The cottage is easy to find, and there is lots to do nearby. I loved the easy access to the river on the property, as well as the nearby beach at Lake Superior.
Cory was wonderful to answer my random questions throughout our stay.
Over all it was a perfect place to stay for a getaway. The cabin had plenty of amenities. The broken sink was a bit of an annoyance and I'm glad we only had the two days to deal with it. Cory was very helpful with any questions. I would stay at these cabin again.
We had a getaway weekend of hiking at Pictured Rocks, and this was such a great, cozy spot to stay. While we were here in the fall, and it was a little too chilly to take advantage of the river, it is literally RIGHT on the river, and we're planning on coming back in the summer to do some paddling. Cottage is super clean, well supplied, and the owner/manager Corey is super friendly and gave us some great suggestions of things to do in the area. Would recommend this spot to anyone!
