One of the most beautiful places in Michigan. This area is accessed mainly by boat or by hiking. Miles and miles of untouched shoreline along Lake Superior showcase God's true artistry :)

There is so much to do from sight seeing, hiking, exploring. Etc. You will not be bored take a cruise to pictured Rocks or go to miners beach and look at bridalview falls in the distance, or go to the chapel Rock scenic over look. This is not a one day visit. It's just amazing!!!

It was amazing to see such a beautiful spot in Michigan. I hadn't realized there was such amazing areas. I loved to just walk the beach or sit and enjoy the view. It seemed like there was always something to see here!

Beautiful rock shore (take a cruise or kayak for best view). Great hiking and many waterfalls at the end of a short hike. The hike to the lighthouse is great!!!

Pictured Rocks is one of the best national and state parks in the entire Midwest. As a photographer, there are almost unlimited possibilities here. My favorite time is Fall. Peak fall colors here are outstanding and can easily rival those in Vermont or Maine. Peak fall colors usually occur in late September or early October. Every year is a bit different.

In the summer the park usually has plenty of bugs. Mosquitoes and biting, black flies can be quite bad. Swimming in Lake Superior is almost always cold. Even on a warm day mid-summer the lake is usually cold. You might get lucky and experience a wind which will keep the warmer waters close to shore. Even if the lake is cold, a walk in the surf is wonderful. The beaches of Lake Superior rival any Caribbean beach.

If you have time, especially in the fall or late summer, try a hike. My favorites start at the Chapel area trailhead or Beaver lake.

Munising really isn't a "touristy". This for some folks is a good thing. Other folks wouldn't like the very average motels and restaurants that are the rule in the Munising area.
