Glass Bottom Shipwreck Tours

Spent two days diving in Munising in late July 2012. All Shipwreck Adventures' personnel were extremely competent and accomodating. Traveling as a single diver, Amy from Shipwreck Adventures worked to schedule me for 2 morning dives joining other small groups on the 25' Fun Time dive boat with Captain Joe.

Dove both days with Captain Joe who was highly competent, knowledgeable about the history of the shipwrecks we visited. He worked equally well with highly experienced divers and a family diving group with two teenagers making their first cold water wreck dive. Safety is emphasized on all dives. Captain Joe coordinated all dives with the goal of making each dive trip enjoyable for everyone on the boat-not always an easy task with divers of different interests & skill levels on the boat.

During our trip to the Upper Peninsula this summer, my wife and I took a ride with the Munising Bay Shipwreck Tour glass bottom boat. It was a fantastic adventure, and one of the highlights of our vacation . We made our reservation on-line and when we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff. We boarded the glass bottom boat and immediately went topside to enjoy the sun enroute to our first shipwreck. During the course of the next couple of hours, we sailed over three different shipwrecks. Our captain masterfully maneuvered the boat so that we could stay over each wreck for a prolonged period of time, allowing all the passengers to take plenty of pictures and to see many of the unique artifacts with each wreck. Both the captain and our trip’s narrator were extremely well informed about the history of Lake Superior, and more than eager to answer questions and share their knowledge. The result was a fun, entertaining, and interesting cruise. Although billed as “fun for all ages” I would discourage bringing children under the age of 5. We had several on our tour who quickly got bored and tired. But for pre-teens through grandparents, the trip offers wonderful sightseeing and lots of interesting stories! A MUST DO when in Munising!

the narration was good. Captain maneuvered ship so well over wrecks you seen all of it.
Dislike: felt really stuffy in lower area

Be the first on the boat and sit at the very front. This is a great way to see everything on your trip around the Bay. We had an amazing captain named Kate and having the best seat in the place didn't hurt

This tour was very interesting. They have designed this so there is something new to see every 20 or so minutes - great to keep kids engaged. The boat was very nice to be on with a variety of sitting options - open, closed, above, below... You could see the painted rocks from a distance and a small sample up close. Very interesting shipwrecks and fun story to go with them - the navigator was excellent and fun.
