Reviewed October 7, 2013

If you've seen Tikal or Copan, only visit if you're really into the Mayan sites. It's just not nearly one the the as impressive as those places. So I guess you should visit if you're really interested if the Mayan culture and sites, otherwise go for those two other big ones. Price of admission is 80 Q (compared to 150 Q for Tikal)

“Very interesting history”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Quirigua is located near the vaste area Fruit Company has acquired to cultivate banana trees which produce the famous chiqita. When you visit Quirigua you should have a guide to narrate the story between Quirigua and Copan. Quirigua was a satellite state of Copan and rebelled and captured and murder one of the Kings of Copan. The Huge curved stellas narrate this story.A very nice serene Park, with the remain of the palace and some houses of the upper class people. All the stellas are roofed to avoid erosion.

“Great Stellaes!”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Beautiful Mayan site. This is not as regal as Copan or Tikal, but it is worth going and seeing the stellaes and ruins that they have there.

“great ruins and i was the only one there!!”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Loved it - I was the only person there. The grounds are amazing and the Steleas are just fantastic. Make the effort and take the detour-you only need a couple of hours
