“GREAT PLACE TO STAY”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

when in vigan city in the philippines and your on a budget, the Green R Hotel is a great place to stay. the rooms are very nice, the only thing i saw that wasn't right is no elevator but i need the exercise to walk up. located next to the city market, walking distance to some very nice old heritage houses. good parking right in front of the hotel. many restaurants near the hotel. walking distance to the old churches and the only cobblestone street with many souvenir sellers. at the end of the street is an old restaurant with excellent food.

they offer a FREE workout gym for those who stay at the hotel

Room Tip: they are all ok, the front and high up offers a view of the market and city.

We arrive at this Hotel 4am in the morning after a long travel from Manila. We pay 700 pesos for a double sharing room with my officemate.Budget wise.BUT as we enter the room woooooaaaaahhhhhhhh..It looks like thousand years with out house keeping, my officemate flipped the pillows in her bed and found one border sleeping thier COCKROACH!!!!and the CR not pleasing to the eye..We request if we can transfer to another room even if in higher cost. but the front desk said the hotel was fully book..GRRRRRRRR....We resolve to find another hotel and asked for a refund but they resist to give, because we have signed the guest slip stated that no refund..(I wonder if its legal as if "no return no exchange"????)..Haist..I will not recommend this Hotel even if its budget hotel..Value for money and comfort you need for a vacation can't be possible if you are staying in dirty rooms ...

went to vigan for a planned birthday getaway.arrived at around 4:30 am.since it was still early we decided ti check in first at this hotel around 5am.check in was a breeze.i was asking the lady in the front desk if we need to pay extra since were checking in early?the girl said no need.so paid 750 for a filthy room so we can just put our bags since we just wanted to stay for a night in vigan..i again asked the girl in the front desk about our check out time she said mam tomorrow at 12pm.so as tourists in vigan we went on with our journey, visiting all those places we need to see..around 10:30am we decided to go back to the hotel and freshen up and rest since we didnt have enough sleep yet because of the 7 hr travel from manila.then at around 12 the girl in the front desk asked if were checking out or are we extending...so much to our surprise...we are asked to pay for a whole days stay.from 5am-12pm..a complete highway robbery..we were really upset since we were fooled by this hotel.they wanted us to pay another 750pesos to extend our stay.i was very mad...i asked for the owner of the hotel.but he us a no show..i wnted them to refund my money even half of it since they fooled us...but conversations with the hotel staff....is pointless..they even told us you will never get youre money back..."kung gusto nyo makausap manager kayo tumawag"...we immediately packed our things this is a useless filthy hotel...service,staff,managemnt is zero..very poor ...i dint even want to give them a 1.they deserve a zero...never book a room even if youre out of budget or even just like us to put our bags..dont ever deal with this hotel..

This hotel is located across the public market of Vigan. Excellent location because the Partas bus terminal is nearby, there is a 7-Eleven and a Durong's Malunggay Pandesal shop nearby. It also helps that Jollibee is next to 7-Eleven.

Most hotels in Vigan cost PHP2000 to 2500. So at PHP800, This is excellent value for money. The hotel exterior is as normal as normal gets. Front office is up a flight of stairs on the 2nd floor. The room itself is normal. A little old from use, but not shabby. The linen was clean and the room had some pleasing decor of wood panelling. Wi-fi was free and available in the room.

The toilet and bath was just barely passable. There are obvious hard-water stains on the faucets. The shower had irregular water pressure. Sometimes strong, sometimes there was a trickle. The toilet did not have a toilet seat and looked quite old. No bad odors, but it was no "comfort room".

The room had vertical blinds with missing slats! There were adjacent buildings so obviously walking around the room in the buff was out of the question.

This is still a good choice despite the state of the toilet/bath, and the missing blinds. Price is less than half than what is on offer in central Vigan (Calle Crisologo area). As a traveller to Vigan, you will need a safe and clean room to stow your things and rest for the night, before hopping on a bus further north into Ilocos Norte.

If you are squeemish about the toilet, go buy bleach and a toilet brush from the general merchandise store in the market and give the toilet and bath a good scrub. It should not cost more than PHP for the whole kit. It still comes out to less than a thousand pesos

Room Tip: Inspect the rooms first before committing. The place needs a little more maintenance than it is rece...

The Staff are friendly. This is a budget hotel which provide a coffee, AC. The room just average as a budget hotel. It's okay for roaming Vigan city location close to Partas BusTerminal just walking distance.
