“A restored mansion turned boutique hotel”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

Had a wonderful stay in this restored mansion turned boutique hotel! Very tasteful decor and features nice paintings and sculptures which are just some of the owner's collections. The staff are well-trained, very polite and attentive. The rooms and the premises are very clean and it's nice to come back to a room with nice-spelling sheets and towels. The hotel is conveniently located around the corner from the main street and walking distance to Calle Crisologo and the plaza.

I was right in choosing this hotel. The location is perfect. It's very near the tourist spots. It's clean and comfortable. But what makes it different is the personal touch by its management and staff. Because of the manager's recommendations, we were able to manage our time wisely and we were able visit lots of places. We also learned from her about the events like the Binatbatan Vigan Festival which we really enjoyed.

Rooms are bigger compared to other hotels in the area. Service is good and the bathroom is big enough. It is cheaper than the other hotels.
I hope that they clean their bathroom well because when we entered, we found a lot of hair on the floor and lavatory. Also, they have to provide a parking that's nearer to the hotel. The present parking space they provided is three blocks away.

This is a nice new hotel just a few steps away from the main plaza.
*Staff are friendly
*The rooms are clean and spacious, clean bathrooms, cable t.v. and free wi-fi, also this time of the year is very hot, temperatures are above 35 degrees so having a room with A/C after a long day walk was really convenient.
* Be aware about the checking in times, when we got to the hotel we found out that the check - in time is 1:00 p.m.
* breakfast is included but do not expect any western style servings be prepared to see a menu with mostly Philippine taste. They do have cornflakes!

Room Tip: Second floor rooms will be best as you will avoid all the noise from the street.

I booked this hotel based on the reviews that was made here in tripadvisor.I'm glad that I tried it because the hotel offers good service and very nice accommodation in Vigan.Booking was easy through their mobile number (09165351680).They responded quick in my inquiries and they were accommodating in requests such as when payment would be made to guarantee the room reservation. They requested for a 50% downpayment to reserve a room.Check in was fast and easy and the people in the reception were very pleasant and gave a service with a smile.

We stayed for an overnight during the Holy Week. The room was big enough and it also had nice interiors giving the room that old look that the place is famous for.The TV was big,the aircon was functioning well. The bed, beddings and pillows were very comfortable to sleep in.The bathroom was just the enough size to move around. The hot water in the bathroom functioned well also. The room and bathroom were clean that you would be comfortable using it like you would use them in your own house probably because the hotel was relatively new.I was able to use their wi fi in our room and connection was fast. I just wished there was a refrigerator in our room. It was really hot in Vigan when we were there and an easy access for a cold drink would be a treat.

We were assigned a room in the ground floor. There were pros and cons with our room location. We were able to bring our things easily into our rooms because it is very near the reception. This hotel has no elevator, therefore bringing so many things such as ours because we have a kid with us would be very tiring going up and down.It is also safer for our kid since the stair steps was quite high for her.We were able to bring our things in and out without much need of any assistance. After touring Vigan for many hours,we were very tired and had lots of souvenirs with us.We just walk straight to our room without the need to go upstairs. The cons were of course there would always be people in the lobby therefore sometimes hearing them talking but the sound was quite faint already. The same goes for our window that open to the dining place where the guests have their breakfast. It was generally tolerable& manageable. The pros outweighed the cons.

The location was good it was one block away from Calle Crisologo. It was at the back of Tongson's Royal Bibingka and Cafe Leona near the town's plaza,Plaza Burgos. It was near many restaurants such as Max's and shouldn't be missed when you are in Vigan,Cafe Leona. It was near the empanadaan in the plaza. It was also a walking distance to St. Paul's Cathedral. It was a 5-10 minute walk to fast food restaurants such as Jollibee,Mc Donald's & Chowking. It was one block away from the souvenir area where you can buy all Vigan delicacies (bagnet, longganisa, suka, empanada & chichacorn)and souvenir items (t-shirts,jewelry boxes, bags, blankets) and even furnitures if you love antique looking pieces in chairs, tables , cabinets, etc.

My only complain here was that the room had a complimentary buffet breakfast for two,I wasn't able to eat because they want to charge our 2 year old kid,in all the hotels we have stayed before, her breakfast was always free of charge because how much food can a two year old kid can consume? I just gave her my food stub and I just ate outside.I think they should have extended here their tag line here also ("Ilocano Heritage Hospitality at its best") and not charge toddlers for their breakfast. Our breakfast fell on a Good Friday, therefore the food just be all fish and no meat.My husband told me that their breakfast tasted good though.

They have their own parking for hotel guests but it was not outside the building but 2-3 streets away. They offered service to bring you to your car and back to the hotel, which I think was another plus because other hotels in the place had only the streets for their parking. Our car is much safer in their parking lot because they had somebody to look after your car.

We walked most of the time when we were there, because it was a small place with narrow streets. It would be hard bringing a car to tour the place. You could go around by foot in some of the tourist destinations (Plaza Burgos,St. Paul's Cathedral, & souvenir shops)or ride a trycycle (P150/hour)if the place was far like the Hidden Garden or Baluarte ni Chavit (Zoo). For the Bantay Bell tower,Syquia Mansion (Pres.Quirino'shouse),Crisologo Museum,Pagburnayan (jar/pottery making),& other nearby tourist spots you can ride a kalesa also for P150/hour.

The design of the hotel is more like a very big house that has many rooms than that of a hotel. Therefore making you feel more at home with the place. It maintained the ambiance of the old era but with some modern touches. Our stay was quite pleasant generally good and would definitely stay here again when we visit Vigan again.

Room Tip: For other guests, they don't like a room in the ground floor but i prefer it because of the easy...

This is a nice new hotel, but I am not sure it deserves some of the ratings so far. The rooms, bathrooms, bed etc are fine but not particularly spacious. Unlike some other hotels in town, there is no restuarant or bar, so there are few places to sit, and no place for a drink in the evening. As a result of no restuarant, the breakfast is very limited, and not suitable for western tastes. Best part of the hotel is the location, very near the main square. For the cost, it is not particularly great value.

Room Tip: If you get a standard room, be care they dont give you one on the ground floor with window on to bac...

The renovation work of this recently opened hotel is laudable. It is also located very near the celebrated heritage road. We had breakfast in the second floor terrace, which was really lovely, except for the smoke that another guest generated, as it is also the designated smoking area. Several small drawbacks. Since it is close to the plaza, it was noisy at 10pm on the Friday night that we were there since there was an open air live band performance at the end of Calle Crisologo by Cafe Leona's. Also, they do not have an on site kitchen, yet. Lastly, there are no elevators and the traditional staircase has 9-inch high stairs. This can be problematic for people with short legs like me.

Otherwise, great hotel value.
