I wasn't sure if the focus was the animals for the Governor. Tons of photos of him and his African hunting. His name on tents, etc. Zoo poor, self promotion even poorer.

Make sure you drop in this place whenever you will visit Ilocos as it is worth coming here. Though they said free entrance but they will tell you to give a small amount for donation/ maintenance. Not bad for kids especially my 4 year old son loves the Animals so much.

There were a lot of renovation works during the time I visited here. It was extremely hot.. And I kind of feel sorry for the animals as they were probably feeling the heat too.

I saw a Camel near the exit to this zoo. Unfortunately it was caged so not a lot of people could see it.

The old lion was also thirsty due to the heat.

It would probably be a good idea to keep the animals hydrated during the Philippine summer months.

This place is a nice zoo to visit. It has an open ground for the animals to go around roaming and you can ride a horse roaming around the open ground. It has different species of animals that is cared by the staff of the zoo. Though it is a bit hot, I really enjoyed the place and I really appreciated the place.

It was so hot so we were really not in the mood to go around. We just took pictures in front of the sign that says "Baluarte", then went to the air-conditioned restaurant to eat halo-halo. The place is huge but I feel like there's really not much to see. And I feel like you have to pay for every single thing that you do while inside.
