Nyatapola Temple looks over one of the squares in Bhaktapur. It is great to take photos of and great to climb and take photos from the top of it. If there is a festival on, it will be busy though. So you will have to elbow your way through the crowds. However, you will get some great photographs of the local children sitting atop the elephant statues. This temple is a must see on your trip to Bhaktapur.

The restaurant at Nyatapola is expensive and a tourist trap. It is not local food and the quality is terrible and not worth it.

An imposing old temple in the centre of Bhaktapur that is well worth a visit. You cannot go inside the building, but you can walk up to the top and watch the world go by - the Nepalese do this a lot.

The height of this five storeys temple is at about 30 meters tall. It is one of the tallest temple in all around Kathmandu Valley, and the tallest one in Bhaktapur. Since the stairs are possible to be climbed in, so we can see almost some part of Bhaktapur city and the Himalaya mountains in the distance from the top floor. The temple has many great details, include ten statues in the stairs. It has an ancient and uniqued lock to lock the temple door. I was told by the guide, that if the lock are broken so nobody can not repair it.

This beautiful ancient temple are well maintained. And visit this temple is a must, when someone is visiting Bhaktapur.

This is one of the biggest and most majestic temples in all of Nepal. It is the tallest pagoda style temple. It is a 5 story structure, exquisitely curved and decorated with Newari style of architecture. Mythical figures and figures of gods and animals are curved in every nook and corner of the temple. The staircase has giant statues of animals on both sides. It is breathtakingly beautiful.
