We stayed 3 times for a few nights at Shiva's 1. It became a verry pleasant head-quarter for us. The staff is friendly, and acts before you ask. Rooms were clean. Good beds. Plenty of space. Wifi, even outside, while enjoying Durbar Square. Hot showers. Laundry-service. Actually, everything is oké!

This is one of the hotels in Nepal which is a bang for a buck..Very Cheap. I stayed there for 3 nights and I enjoyed every bit of my stay there. The hospitality shown by the owners were just amazing. They are very friendly and makes you feel home away from home. The rooms were small in size but were clean and cozy. They also have a warm staff in the restaurant down stairs who cooks good meals. Above everything this Shiva Guest House 1 has the best location that one can ask for. The ancient and magnificient Durbar Square can be viewed from the front room itself.

Room Tip: Higher Floors are recommended for views

I stayed in Shiva 1 and really enjoyed it. Never had a hotel located that nice. Waking up and open the curtains and you are in a fairytale.
The staff is fantastic and helpfull and they do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Free wifi, hot water, soft beds.
The menu is good and balanced with both nepali and western food. And sitting in front of the hotel and drinking your afternoon tea while daily life walks by is fantastic!

Highly recommended!

We asked for, and received, a room at the top with a view of the square. It was great for photography and people watching and not at all noisy as they suggested that it might be. It was clean, plenty of hot water, and the service was prompt and courteous. Food in the restaurant was good, and the omelet requested for dinner each evening, although not on the menu, was served. Absolutely no complaints. Would do it again.

Room Tip: Ask them what they have, tell them what you are interested in. They make every effort to provide that.
