First time visiting Nepal and my mum chose Cosy Hotel for us to stay in. From the outside, it didn't look like much - look like any other building in Bhaktapur, a bit old and weary looking. But they have renovated the inside to be quite modern looking. Everything's clean and well kept. Wifi speed was okay - you don't go to Nepal to surf the web after all. We happened to be there during one of Nepal's major festivals so we woke up to this great parade right outside our hotel windows in the morning. Amazing!

Room tip: Very good service with helpful staffs

It is great to see the Cosy Hotel and restaurant was spared any damage in the quakes. In fact anyone visiting Bhaktapur will be surprised at how much of the town they have been able to save and restore. Cosy Hotel and its restaurant up on the roof is on Pottery Square which is a few minutes walk from the main square and temples in Bhaktapur. Pottery Square is highly recommended for a visit as it is great to see the local people still making pottery items by hand from the black clay gathered from up in the hills. The restaurant has a small ground level area and up on the roof it has a sheltered area and an outdoor sunny area with wonderful views across Bhaktapur and the surrounding hills. You need to look for the entrance to the hotel and the restaurant as it just a small doorway in one of the narrow streets. The staff are friendly and we had a very good dal baht, which is the local Nepali food. Recommended for a meal or a snack away from the main tourist area.

This Hotel is located ~200 metres from Taumadhi Tole and ~400 metres from Durbar Square. Staff are super friendly and only happy to help. The room was very comfortable but the price reflected the quality. Great bathroom, plenty of hot water, good wifi and the rooftop restaurant all helped make this an enjoyable stay.

The address can be hard to find (heading away from the 5 tier Nyatapola temple to the right hand side of the square this will lead you to pottery square, look for the roof top signage) and taxi's arranged by the hotel will be considerably more expensive than if you negotiate this on the outside.

Hotel Cosy is a quiet haven in a very busy area. The top roof restaurant offers at any time to enjoy good company, fine food served by friendly staff. The results of the earthquake are still visible in the neighborhood but the hotel as such is not affected.

The hotel was easy to find from Pottery Square and the staff were very helpful. Two bed room consisted of a double bed and a single bed (my friend got the double in the coin toss) small bathroom en-suite with a shower in the centre, keep the toilet paper covered!! We had a room on the first floor overlooking the small street. A few problems were that the street side is noisier and if you open the window to let the air in then the room soon becomes filled with dust. We were offered a room at the back of the hotel as an option before taking this one but the bathroom in there was even smaller so we took our chances. Breakfast was included but I would not recommend breakfast or even dinner for that matter in the rooftop restaurant, there are many places where the food is of a higher standard for similar price.

Room tip: The noise level at this time was loud due to the Dashain festival. The noise was not due to any responsibility of the hotel or the staff.
