The Cosy Hotel is indeed "cosy". We had a fairly large room which was at the back of the hotel and it was nice and quiet. The duvet cover was the biggest and warmest we've ever had! The bathroom was small but everything worked and we had lots of nice hot water.

Would definitely recommend the Nepali breakfast in the morning - we had this every morning sitting up on the roof top restaurant - along with a large pot of black coffee. A great start to the day.

The staff are really friendly and will help with any forward planning or trips.

We really enjoyed our night at the Cosy Hotel in spite of the fact that we had limited light, no heat and a non-functioning television. Bhaktapur is wonderful and the Cosy Hotel is perfectly located to see the sites by foot. The room was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed the view and breakfast in the roof-top dining area. The Cosy Hotel is not modern or fancy, but I didn't see any modern options in the town. I'm completely glad that we spent our rustic night in Bhaktapur; I'd do it again in a minute.

The hotel is in a good location in the street leading to Potters Square. We had a room that was large & clean with double glazed windows. The power is out a lot but they have backup lighting so you can always see in the room. There is a TV & plenty of hot water. There is a rooftop restaurant & we enjoyed sitting there in the sun on our arrival & also had dinner there. The staff are friendly & helpful & will bring you a much needed hot water bottle at bedtime.

I don't know about those these reviewers who complain about electricity when it comes to a particular hotel when this is Nepal, electricity is an issue everywhere.

With that said, I highly recommend Cosy Hotel to anyone who's looking for a place to stay in Bhaktapur. It is conveniently between Taumadhi Square and Pottery Square, and Durbar Square is a few minutes walk from it too. The hotel even has it's own courtyard where neighboring families dry their pottery. There's a small Buddhist temple right on the very same courtyard where devotees pay their respects early in the morning. So it is very interesting to watch these activities right from the comforts of your own room, all you need to do is open your window.

Cosy is one of the favorite hotels i've stayed in. It lives up to it's name, the room can get very cosy that's its sometimes difficult to get out of bed. It also gets a bit more chilly inside the room than outside for some strange reason. When guests can very cold at night, the staff provides hot bags which is a very thoughtful gesture. The rooms are big however, the bathroom is quite small but that's just a minor problem. Hot water works well (just have to wait for 10 minutes to let the water get warm) and the internet at this hotel is the best one i've had in the whole of Nepal.

Of course, the one thing that makes Cosy stand out is it's excellent service - everyone does it with a smile, from the reception to the bell boys that also work on the rooftop restaurant. Not to forget, the rooftop restauarant provides excellent views of life in Bhaktapur as well as the distant mountains.

I'd choose Cosy Hotel again when I go back to Bhaktapur.

stayed in the Mustang Room - tiny ensuite with shower only but spotlessly clean - loved the quirky character of each individual room (my friend in another room had different decor and huge ensuite bath, same floor, not sure of the room name but it faced the street and was noisy) - loved the amenities like shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, thick towels, even wash clothes, comfy beds...TV? never bothered to turn it on. Fab roof top restaurant: yes service is slow but food unremarkable - enjoy the view of main corners below. Costly compared to a typical Nepali hotel but worth it for a few days. Intermittently barking dog in central courtyard. Lovely front desk staff. Would stay here again.
