What they don't tell you is there is only electric for 2 hours a day, the LP guide book is way off, no heat, and no help to be had, I am changing tomorrow for a small but new guest house, works on solar panels, $10 a nite, not $50 for this place just down the street, what good is a TV when you can not watch it, why brother putting them in the rooms????? I don't watch TV, but seems senseless to me. power for 2hrs a day between 3 to 5
Hard to say what the room is like when you can't see it.
Better choices, cheaper, and with power
Just saying,

Room Tip: Save your money, take a guesthouse, and LP I think did not even come here, the front desk admitted t...

Dear Kevin,
Thank you for your review, as we always appreciate feedback.
We are very sorry that you did not get much electric power when you stayed at Cosy Hotel. This is however not in our hands as the situation in Nepal is not stable. At the time of your stay, the government was giving us less electricity than ever and there were problems with the local transformer blowing when everybody was trying to get power again (In winter season, many people try to turn heaters and other electricity consuming goods on at the same time). We have quite a powerful battery back up that allows us to have lights on in all rooms of the hotel and it is possible to charge mobile phones on the multi-plug of the lobby.
I am sad that you did not ask to meet one of the in-charge persons as it would have been our pleasure to do our best to make your stay way better.
We hope you had a nice stay in Nepal after all and we wish you a happy nepali new year 2070.
Sincerely Yours,
Cosy Family

We spent four nights there and had a great time. The room was big and very clean with comfortable beds. The rooftop restaurant was nice and offered fresh and very tasty food. The owner and his staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cosy Hotel is probably the best choice in Bhaktapur.

We were travelling in Nepal for two weeks with our three kids aged 10, 8 and 4. The five of us were often required to book two rooms so an adult slept in each room and the kids swapped around their preferred sleeping arrangements. The adults had travelled before, but for the kids the trip to Nepal was the first big overseas adventure.

The Cosy Hotel is a new hotel run by a Nepali man with lots of hospitality experience. It has a western-style décor and this includes TV’s and AC and room service; so at the end of our trip (last few days) it was exactly what we all needed. We had two adjacent rooms with the interconnecting door opened, so it was like having a large suite. The location is perfect, being just off Potters Square and it’s a 5 minute walk to any of the other squares.

The staff were unfailingly polite and accommodating; the laundry service was complementary; the food was excellent and well-priced and they also arranged a guide to show us the sites on the first day, and a taxi to take us to Patan at the end of our stay. They have a sweet rooftop restaurant with views over the old city and out to the mountains.

According to one of the local touts (who unsuccessfully tried to tempt us away) it is the best place to stay in Bhaktapur. If you wanted a more traditional style of accommodation then perhaps it is not for you; but for us it was perfect.

Room Tip: try and get a room that opens onto the small courtyard as the laneways get pretty noisy at night.

We were ten days at the Cosy Hotel in Bhaktapur getting over our jet lag. We loved our stay at the Cosy and loved getting to know this beautiful community, so much better than staying in Kathmandu. The staff at the Cosy were very helpful, the food in the restaurant was excellent, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I would suggest you ask for a room off the courtyard as the street sides were noisy.

It was great place to start our Nepal visit and to have a rest after all the flights. The hotel is located near the Potters Square, calm place. The stuff is very friendly. Clean rooms with A/C. Very good food in their nice rooftop restaurant, do expect a view though. Do not forget to try their yoghurt.

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The owner has worked in France and so is aware of European demands. Under his leadership Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The outside is beautifully carved. A highlight is breakfast on the roof. A good location but noisy from the street outside.
