From the moment you enter to the moment you leave you are left feeling welcome and special. The rooms are very spacious and in keeping with the heritage boutique feel of the place.

This has one of the nicest restaurants in Nepal and the breakfast buffet was a real joy.

It is a short walk into Bhaktapur all be it up a small hill in to town.

By far the best hotel I stayed at in Nepal.

Skip staying in Thamel, it is dirty and noisy. Instead stay at this gem of a hotel in Bhaktapur, just a few minutes from the mob scene in Kathmandu. The hotel is a beautifully decorated and well run. All the employees, from the guard at the gate, who salutes you ro the chef who will cater to your cuilinary whims are professional and friendly.

Bhaktapur is a UNESCO site, full of beautiful temples, plaaces and historic buildings. You will be taking more photos there than any othe rpñace in Nepal. There are also some nice shops to buy local pottery, great pashminas and local artifacts and stylish clothing...you can shop at your leisure without the hawking and hard sell in Kathmandu.

I lok forward to my next trip to Nepal. The Heritage will definitely be my base.

Room Tip: I stayed twice and got two different rooms. They were voth beautiful.

This is one of the best boutique heritage hotel i have ever stayed in. It is in a quiet location, about 5 mins walk from the old city. You are welcomed by a lady with traditional attire with a scarf. You feel special right away. Room was magnificent with all amenities you would want, a/c minibar, locker, bathtub, fruit and cookies basket, etc .. Attention to detail---Amazing. There are antiques everywhere nicely docorated. Every nook and corner has something to look for. Every part to the hotel tries to explain you about the culture and tradition. You get a different kinda feel when you are in the hotel. It's nice to come back to hotel after long tiring day.
Staffs are amzing. You get a smile and Namste when you pass by. Super friendly and personalised service. I guess better than so called five stars. They have a excellent restaurant. The chefs really knows foreigners taste. The food served was amazing. Even the tables in the restaurant were made out of old timbers. Amazing to see that. Thumbs up to the owners for fantastic work and creativity.
Oh yes, This hotel is similar to the Dwarka hotel in Kathmandu which can be quite expensive so if you want same kinda experience then Heritage Hotel is the place for you. It is cheaper than Dwarka.
If you would like some peace and calm choose Bhaktpur over Kathmandu. You will not regret it.

Room Tip: I guess all rooms are magnificient.

Ok, let’s get this straight. We’re not comparing Hotel Heritage to the Mandarin Oriental. Got it?
We are, however, thinking about the other options available in Bhaktapur and considering the other hotel service available in wider Nepal. That said, Hotel Heritage is a well-run, comfortable and convenient option when visiting Bhaktapur.

My wife and I had visited Bhaktapur on two other occasions. At that time, we did a lot of walking and saw a lot of the sights, but never had the sense of having seen it all. For some months, we wanted to return and spend a dawn to dusk day in Bhaktapur. We concluded that the only way to do that was to spend two nights in or near the city. When the opportunity presented itself to take several days off, we made reservations at Hotel Heritage and headed for Bhaktapur.

Hotel Heritage is located on the south side of Bhaktapur just outside the old city. The nearest ticket counter for entry to the old city is about 100 yards from the hotel and Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a 10 minute walk. For us, perfect.

We arrived late on a Sunday afternoon and were welcomed by the friendly, efficient staff. Check in took less than 10 minutes and we were off to our third-floor room. The room was clean, large and equipped with all the modern conveniences (air conditioner, cable TV, bath tub, couches, and mini bar). There’s no elevator, but the stairs were no hardship. The building itself is constructed in traditional red brick with carved windows and strewn with classic Nepali/Newari artifacts throughout.

After a short rest, we headed out for a quick walking tour of the neighborhood. Hotel Heritage is in an otherwise quiet residential area just south of the Hanumante River. It is easily accessible by car (we drove there) and the property has ample parking. I would guess it is about 500 meters from the Araniko Highway. Once properly oriented, we concluded it was time for dinner.

Given that there appeared to be only one other couple staying in the 25 room hotel, we were a little concerned that the restaurant staff might not be ready to serve a full menu. We were wrong. We entered the Kutumba restaurant and were seated next to a window that presented a panoramic view of the Hanumante River crossing. As we sat at our table, we watched the folk of Bhaktapur coming and going. We ordered the “Royal” Nepali Thakali set menu. My wife chose fish, me chicken. The food arrived in short order delivered by the helpful, professional waiter. We were not disappointed. Over the next day and a half, we enjoyed two delicious dinners and two breakfasts all served up by the capable, hardworking staff.

We had two pleasant, restful nights at Hotel Heritage and concluded that if you want to visit Bhaktapur for a couple of days, Hotel Heritage is the way to go.
