I stayed in Zuela guesthouse for 4 nights. I really enjoyed the place. The building looks very good and the rooms are very good for Northern Laos standards. You have WIFI, a mosquito net in the room and your own bathroom. Not much more to ask for in Laos and the pricing is unbelievable. So much for so little.

I really enjoyed the food (Fried rice with beef is excellent) but be careful with the Pad Thai...

Staff is good and friendly, English language is poor but that is no surprice in northern Laos.

Bring earplugs because the roasters don't seem to understand that they have to wake is in the morning and not on 1pm, 2 pm and so on...

Thanks Zuela Guesthouse and good luck!

Room Tip: Rooms seem te be more or less the same. I would not bother about it too much.

This guesthouse was above my expectations. Firstly, the location of the guesthouse is so convenient if you want access to restaurants, trekking companies and night market.

In terms of the room, they are clean and comfortable. It is not too noisy and it is not directly along the main road. We stayed there before and after our trek and both rooms met my expectations. Hotel service staff was excellent!

The price is very reasonable but breakfast is not available. The restaurant offers variety of choices at fair prices.

I will definitely recommend this guesthouse.

Lovely guesthouse, set in a garden with a decent cafe/restaurant.

The service was great, really accommodating as we sought out the room with the least rooster crowing. Which is the biggest issue, unfortunately.

Every property around Zuela's keeps chickens and roosters. They are chronologically-challenged and set each other off through the night - every couple of hours. Room number 22 has it worst, with the roosters of one neighbour sitting outside a louvred window that you cannot close - not ideal.
The upper floors of the main building are one layer of wooden-cladding over a frame and provide no sound or temperature insulation whatsoever... as well as loud, booming sounds whenever anyone walks down the hallway. The roosters behind Khamkhing Guesthouse were exceptionally annoying from this vantage.

The best room was number 12, as there was little stomping through the thin floors from above, and the windows shut and sealed well against the persistent crowing.

If you sleep well, then do not hesitate to stay here. It is clean and pleasant.

Room Tip: Room 12 was the quietest, though any on that side and level would be decent.

This was one of the best guesthouses that we stayed in during our 10day stay in Laos. Clean rooms, with stylish decor. One of the best things about the guesthouse is the ability to chill out on the balcony or in the substantial courtyard between the guesthouse and associated restaurant. We had a very relaxing stay and would recommend anyone to stay here who passes through Luang Namtha.

We did try to book in advance but could not get through on the phone. During our stay reception was manned infrequently but you could always find someone to help out in the vicinity! Booked online in the end which was fine.

Stayed there for 2 nights, 1 night before and after my awesome 3D2N trek and kayaking in the NPA. The hotel is quite stylish - built in traditional Lao architectural style with modern updates.

The rooms were clean and cosy but the bathroom's water power was a bit on the weak side. The restaurant served great food at extremely competitive prices and the atmosphere was great. As usual in all SEA guesthouses, they offer transport services - bus/minivans/domestic flights to anywhere in Laos. The attitudes of the staff there were good too.

PS: The wifi is very weak. I stayed just downstairs from the router and only got 1 bar of signal in my room. Even sitting beside the router and with 3 bars didn't help with the speed.
