I went through Booking.com because their hotel website is entirely in Japanese (no booking fee though) and it turned out to be a better deal anyways. There were no reviews in English and nothing on the website in English so I was a bit hesitant. Once I e-mailed them (after booking) Arisa-san responded right away...with excellent English skills! I was so surprised (it turns out she studied abroad in Colorado for four years) and from there it was smooth sailing. She was able to book a rental car for me (only 4,000JPY a day and 3,500JPY each day after). Just ensure you have an international driver's license or Japanese license to rent the car. They assisted with SCUBA reservations (unfortunately no English speakers so that was interesting) and other tour info. The other two staff also spoke some English (gomen, I cannot remember their names) and the guy even helped me with payment for another flight reservation (it was all in Japanese)...very, very helpful and much appreciated! The rooms were clean and beds surprisingly comfy (unusual for Asian countries as beds are usually hard), swimming pool was awesome, restaurant available, small gift shop. You really want a rental car if staying here as there is nothing really close though the tours will pick you up. They take credit card, rooms have small fridges, noodles and beer for sale in store, all toiletries provided (shampoo, rinse, soap, comb, toothbrush, etc.).
Suggestions for the hotel: some English on the website (if you want to attract foreigners as well), more varied menu options (non-seafood), offer can chu-hi (as well as the can beer already for sale), some English brochures/flyers for tourists. Domo Arigato!
