The Museum has four sections showing life of Buddha, historical and geographical context in which Buddhism evolved. Buddha's life story is shown through a 3D animation movie and rest of the sections show 10 minute audio visual films. “Impossible to find”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

We could not find this museum for love nor money. We asked at the information desk (who sent us to the archaeological museum a km away) and also at the bookshop within the temple complex and he had never heard of it. Very disappointing as really wanted to go. They need to improve their signage - if they even still exist!

“good for layman and all”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

This is a wonderful place who don't know much about Buddha. Its a 45 min.show and worth watching .it is shown in Hindi,English,Japanese,Sinhalese and Thai depending on group.A total of 30 people can watch this show.sitting is of simple chairs with no other facility, actually i found those 45 min ,more of a relaxation for hectic time you spend out.[there is so much to see ,that your plan of 3-4 days become hectic].
The show is good if its in preferred language as it can be done on simple request as Indians understand English very well.the cost of show is 40 INR [ABOUT 80 CENTS]
Its just 10m away from the temple complex.

“Ranchi to Delhi via Bodhgaya& Sangam at Allahabad”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

I and my wife started on 31 Oct2012 from Ranchi by car at 9.00 AM from Firayalal Chowk at Ranchi.I reached Bodhgaya via Ramgarh,Hazaraibagh,Barhi through NH33 a beautiful road.We took lunch at 1:30 PM near Barhi in a leisurely pace. Then from Barhi we took NH-2 crossed Chouparan, Barachatti etc then took right turn Dobhitowards Bodhgaya, a state highway, quite OK for driving. and reached Bodhgaya by 4:00 PM.
Visited famous shrines at Bodhgaya( wonderfully clean and serene atmosphere),stayed for the night at Bodhgaya at Hotel Siddharth, a Bihar government hotel having nice staff and a good restaurant. There are many hotels at Bodhgaya of various standards for any type of travellers.
Left Bodhgaya on 01 Nov 2012 at 9:00 AM and reached Allahabad on NH-2.From a place near JHUSI enetered Sangam area of Allahabad at around 4:30 PM in a leisurely pace and enjoyed the vast expanse of riverbanks at sangam and saw the preparations of Kumbh Mela 2012-13 starting from 14 Jan 2013.There is an old Hanuman temple for a darshan for pious people.Left sangam by 7:30 PM towards Kanpur through Bomreilly, Manari towards the highway NH-2.Reached Delhi non stop via Firozabad,Agra at 5:30 AM on 02 Nov 2012.
The overall Road from Ranchi to Delhi is very good, and with car it is no problem for people to travel.Basically you require one night stay in between.

“Life of Buddha”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

this museum is the hard work of a technocrat. Through a multi media projector various aspects of Buddha life are demonstrating with narration of the story. One will flow with period of the story being shown. it is situated just at the entrance of Mahabodhi temple.

“CGI Buddha”
Reviewed July 7, 2012

If you don't know the story of the Buddha then this is a curious computer genarated cartoon of his life which has him wandering Bihar state like a Terrhhawk Puppet!

That is still manages to be emotionally moving is testament to the Buddha.

You won't learn much about the Temple or it's renovation and history - a nice diversion and chance to sit unhassled for 20 minutes.
