My family enjoyed our stay at the waterpark and hotel. Rooms and public areas were clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Yes, there are bigger and more thrilling waterparks, but the 2 slides were fun for all ages and the whole place struck me as very clean. Lots of lifeguards on patrol at all times to make sure things are running smoothly. This was nice to see. I also enjoyed the air temperature. Many waterparks are so stifling hot and humid that it is almost difficult to breathe. Not so here. It was very comfortable.
There was a great selection of digital TV programming in the room. Many movies to choose from. They don’t list this benefit on their website, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
There were a few issues, though, that knocked a few stars off our rating. We had trouble with the wristband-coded room keys. They would stop functioning and we’d have to go to the front desk to have them reprogrammed.
Also, the temperature control in the room was not very effective. It was either too hot or too cold, with very little in between.
Speaking of temperature, what is with the hot water system? We were on the top floor near the end of one of the “wings.” Only once during our 2-night stay did we get the water to a temperature where we enjoyed comfortably hot showers. A call down to the front desk elicited this head-scratching response. “We have an eco-friendly water heating system. Since your room is near the end of the hall, you may need to run the water for about 15 minutes for it to get hot.” Huh? Eco-friendly? I didn’t know that flushing 15 minutes of water down the drain was considered ecologically responsible.
Also, while they do have wireless internet, it caps the number of simultaneous users. On most occasions during the day, I would get a message to try again later. This is nonsense. I have never experienced this at hotels 10 times the size and find it unacceptable to not provide a service as advertised. This was a big minus in my mind.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a fun time. Not a perfect experience, but a great way to spend a few days out of the snow.
