We stopped there for lunch and some shopping and although the service was good, the experience was not much more than average. I was expecting more. The military pancake was very tasty and unusual. Hot chocolate was good. Food nicely presented. Worth a visit but don't expect anything outstanding.

Harrie's is an institution - that much was obvious from the fact that every time we mentioned a stopover in Graskop, we were immediately told to make sure we visit it. From Jo'burg to Kruger, everybody seemed to know this place! Given that, we obviously had high expectations, and frankly, were a little let down. The pancakes aren't bad - the choices are interesting, the taste decent, but they do leave you wondering what all the hype is about. I would still recommend Harrie's if you are in Graskop or close by, because there really aren't many decent eating out options in the area, but go with muted expectations. Also, expect to wait as the queues can be long.

We ate at Harrie's pancakes and found the menu ready to match all taste buds, the waitress friendly and helpful and the food yummy. Our scones with beautiful jam, butter and cheese and the sweet pancake, together with the best latte I've tasted in quite a while (you add your own coffee to the milk to suit your taste), made for a enjoyable meal before going to The Window for curios.

Our destination was Kruger National Park however we had read several article that one must stop at Harrie's Pancake House. When we arrived it was difficult to find a parking space and we thought we might find the same as far as seating inside. Located on a corner in downtown, the place is easy to see as it is painted all white. We were seated quickly and our order taken. Except for one we all had the pancakes. Mine was banana and it was delicious. One in our party opted for what appeared to be a very large bowl of stew. He ate every drop and exclaimed how good it was. We found the restaurant and rest rooms very clean. This definitely was a very good stop and we can see why so many articles have been written about the restaurant.

With the rain pelting down, we arrived at Harrie's and although all tables were taken, we were offered a drink while waiting to be seated. Less than 2 mins later, we were seated, orders taken and drinks in our hands. Pancakes with the delicious bobotie and lamb bredie were served within 10 mins. Waitrons were helpful and not once was it necessary to look for any staff for any assistance. Still the best pancakes in the Southern Hemisphere!! Will be back.
