Did this trip with our hosts from African Rock Lodge (they ROCK!). Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate when we got to God's Window due to mist, but the drive was great and highly enjoyable.

This is definitely worth doing one of the most beautiful and amazing places of south africa. Weather is nice and warm, it is something that you and your family can enjoy I sure did.

The weather was not in our favour to visit the sight named Gods Window, as the cloud cover was very low and threatened rain .
However, the visit to what are called the Pot Holes, was well worth the time spent there, and these are not the kind which burst your tires.
Try to imagine two rivers coming together, not a spectacular waterfall, but certainly canyons and gorges of such depth and great rock color that your trip in has to be more than a cursory look.
Photo ops at every turn ,easy walking on the flat grounds as well as the bridges which cross the gorge.
We took some of our best pictures there

It was a wonderful drive seeing all of the canyon tops, and forest areas. God's Window was fogged in from a storm the night before, so that was a disappointment, check the weather before you drive the route because the deep canyon area's may be fogged out. Driving by myself, I went slower, so that I could see the wonderful views, but I missed out on some great sights because I had to keep close attention to the road. Not because there was sharp curves like you have going through a mountain range, but because of the pot holes. They were everywhere, and some were deep enough to do lots of damage to a car. It is a shame that the government doesn't fix them considering the amount of tourists that go through the canyon, and support the economy. They need to get on it, so be careful folks.

Started at the Lydenburg drove pass Long Tom Pass, what an amazing view then carried on to Sabie and went to Lone Creek Waterfalls, Horseshoe Waterfalls, Mac Mac Falls, Bridal Veil Falls then proceeded to God Window and Bourke Luck potholes.
The entire route is amazing, i went there more than 5 times almost every year but cant get enough of the place.
